Have no idea, but knowing FC, probably a win maybe 4 or 5 nil. fC plays the long ball and send that ball to the wings who either cross it in or take a shot at goal from the wing. They are always taking a shot at goal so you have to have a great keeper. Their centre back is strong and does a good job of kicking that ball to the wing or forwards. Not to take away from ermo, i just think FC are relentless with their attack and are a strong team.
Very disappointing when you have a forfeit. No doubt you asked ermo to play on another day? Knew you would have won, but a forfeit is a hard pill to swallow when you knew you would win and hopefully by more than 3 goals. Don't mean to take away from Ermo, i just feel FC is the stronger team. Cheers Fairgo
C Hill the dominant team in the first half & took a well deserved 1-0 lead into HT. They went off the boil in the second half & FC came into the match more & more without really getting the upper hand. C Hill probably had the better chances in the second half but it was FC whom equalised with some sloppy play at the back.
A draw was looking the likely result until a somewhat soft penalty was awarded with about a minute to go & the C Hill left back stepped up & slotted the ball away well with the keeper going the wrong way. In front of a group of his school mates it was a good one to score.
It was a shame an Auburn supporter confronted the young ref at the end of the match, whether the decision was right or not, it should not have happened. Well done to the Auburn coach for leading the supporter away.
A much needed win for C Hill which helps there cause of making the semis.
re the ref abuse , there was a fair bit from a section of their parents last time we played them too .
Don't know what's happened to the yellow vest policing of this but they've let it bubble along for too long at Auburn FC . The funny thing is as soon as there's no official ref in attendance and a volunteer from the crowd is asked to blow the whistle , the sideline abusers will put their hands in their pockets and look the other way .
I think both teams struggled a bit playing at night but a good game overall.
In my view it was a fair penalty, as our forward was taken down in the box. He was heading away from goal after fluffing the shot so a bad decision on the part of the goalie and defender to go in. There were some bad calls in the game with off side calls etc but it went both ways so all even at the end.
A pity the officials cop it though, especially when they are around the same age as our boys. Some decisions made throughout the season baffle me, but so do decisions in EPL, A-League and World Cup, so we all just need to teach the boys not to argue or question the decision. As I tell my boys, I have watched countless games over the years and I have yet to see a ref reverse a decision because a player disagrees.
Auburn District 2 Ermo 0. District played mostly in Ermos half but our players couldn't seem to hit the target despite being in front of goal! Their keeper was good saving lots of balls. With 8 defenders it was packed in front of Ermos goal. How did the rest of the boys go?
scrappy game all round with barely 3 passes strung together by either side and a referee who appeared to be getting a yellow card bonus given the amount of "soft" yellows shown . A couple of CHU parents had trouble counting to 2 and tried to get a RSL player red carded after his first yellow . LOL .
CH United 0 - 1 CHRSL I wouldn't say United dominated. Whistle happy ref (with some questionable calls on both sides) often disrupted the flow of play. Sloppy defending and not converting opportunities from both teams combined to make a scrappy game.
