Sammak was with the Regents Park team which finished top two for the last two years in Div 2 but didn't go up to Div 1 on either occasion under mysterious circumstances - which may or may not be similar to the Norwest team mentioned once or twice earlier in this thread. I offer no opinion on either issue, who are we to judge the actions of others....?
ok just to clarify...last year the team (regents park) split and got together right at the last minute and briggsy shoved us back into div 2...would u belive we never trained and went as far as the grand final? i called them all together early this year and i got not many who responded....a bit like previous years...now this season regents park have lost all those players that played under myself...3 of them are at parra city in a side thats honestly no better than the side they left! i wish them all the best though, but never say that we pulled strings to stay in div 2 because thats simply not true, i pushed them to stay together and go div 1 but half the side wernt confident they could do it and everyone was looking to what the other one was going to do before commiting and at the end the team split...regents park have a div 6 side now with not 1 player out of that crack div 2 team in it...but i can attest (and so will toongabbie, winston hills white, kellyville white and castle hill united) that regents park could certainly have played div 1and if (lets talk hindsight here) rego were playing div one it would of been a struggle and just the same as what i mentioned in my last thread because teams going up from div 2 have a tendancy to struggle 1st year in and this year will be no different ...but unfortunatlly we wont see it....now getting to the 2 sides i watched on the weekend (castle hill v parra city) my assesment was fair...and i stand to be proven wrong...enjoy your year lads.

fair enuf.i think castle hill will go good . been together for a while and have proven to be playing firsts.will see how they fair on weekend against kellyblacks .blacks should take this game outthough but castle hill will give it a red hot go.there a good team .everyone has a opinion ..seee whats happens .gota agree with thommo . top 2 up bottom 2 down.with norwest i think its granvilles association to see how they are fairing and bump them up into division 1..but norwest themselves should also see if they are winnning easily put ur hand up and say yep we should be in ones...who knows this year they mite of lost players etc etc .time wll tell
toonarmy...in all honesty parra should have been 3 up before castle hill pinched their goal to make it 1 all...but both sides will struggle to chase down teams that string more than 6/7 passes together...because these 2 sides can only mange hanging on to the ball for less than 5 passes maximum...the step up from 2s to 1s is a skill leap...and a pretty massive one at that.so the 1st thing div 2 sides need to learn in this comp is they must hang on to the ball better and not expect the calibre of opposition to let them get away with the easy football they had in lower grades....

Yep. Recognised a few of the Regents boys. Trying to rembember the missed Parra chances in the first half. My read was CHU should have been up by 2 by half time with Parra slotting a one on one with the keeper and missed a pen in the second. CHU missed more good chances than Parra, not that it's boast worthy. A robust encounter and yes both will meed to hold on to the ball a bit better.
Winsto white 1 Toony 3. Thought we showed today that we can at least match it with some in Div 1. Up one at half time Toony had a bit too much in reserve and scored three albeit gifted goals. Well done lads. Thanks to the ref for the extra 10 minutes of fitness.
You know it's going to be a tough day when both teams have 4 DNP's on their team sheet but the opposition still have 15 players available. With a bare 11 and Our 7th choice keeper in for the second half we did alright and made CHU work for their win.
Should be able to rustle up a 3-3-1 formation for parra City tomorrow If any of the CHU non starters want a regular run .............

What is happening in 35? From what I can figure from here and Granville there is a good ten team comp this year. When I played there was 6 team comp and 20 team comps. Kellyville Winsto Toonie parra and Casto teams to beat? Who won out of Kellyville and Toonie
