The councils and some clubs would just rather close grounds and forget about everyone that pays their fees to play each year. it is so frustrating to say the least as each year it seems to get worse with grounds very playable being closed on a whim and people to lazy to re check for Sunday or midweeks games.
I know its a different time and all the bloody do gooders out there have stuffed it for everyone but back when I was young and playing in the Granville comp it had to be raining for weeks on end for game to get called of and I remember many wet weather games being played week in week out without a drama in the world.
How times have changed FOR THE WORSE
Could not agree more with the above & with all the drama surrounding the start up of the Hills Association you would think that all clubs & both Associations (although only one is up & running so to speak) would be exerting as much pressure on councils to open fields unless they were unplayable. And we all know that the amount of 'unplayable' fields this season would be very minimal. Some of the matches that I know that have not been played due to ground closures has been absolutely ridiculous. And that has been in the Hills Council & Parra.
Both Associations need to pressure either FNSW or the insurance companies to also change their policy of what is considered an 'unplayable' field.
