macduff ... how is your player that required the Ambos? Will he be back on the paddock this season or will he be taking up a coaching / managers job?

Unfortunately he will be unable to play.....only because his left boot has no studs on it and there is a danger of slipping if the ground gets wet. So after an injury and an 11th hour retirement we are down to 15 for the season. As for coaching/managing, he's done it before and learnt his lesson that time.
Dropbear if you want to have a run on the field we always have a space available for you - we are not Aston Villa or Central Coast Mariners, but we do enjoy the odd beer or green whistle after a game.

Intresting to see the results over the weekend. Will be keenly watching the progress of the teams recently promoted.
I see it didn't take long for the Lidcombe right back to be mentioned again. I am very surprised Lidcombe managed to retain him given that he was asked to join his fellow Greeks at Parramatta last season.
If last weeks form is anything to go by i think there will be 2 - 3 strong teams and a the Likes of Wenty, Auburn, will struggle. Ermingtons 4 - 0 thrashing of Lidcombe is a bit of a surprise. Will be keen on Ermingtons progress this year.

Predictions for the week (as I did so poorly last week)
Ermo vs Pendo. 4-1, Ermo to continue their early season form and give the Pendo lads a bit of a touch up. Lidcombe vs Auburn. 3 -0 Lidcombe to bounce back with their right back playing up front and scoring a hat trick Wenty vs Parra City 1-3 City too good as Wenty resort to pumping the ball from goal kicks Ville vs Winsto 1-1 Match of the round with two first up winners going head to head. Winsto will struggle on the small pitch, with a late equaliser to Wilf getting the draw.
Hope everyone plays hard but enjoys the beer (or kava) afterwards.

Kellyville 2 Winston 1. Good close game with chances for both sides to take all points but it was Ville taking the points

Well done to the Ville. Agreed that the game could have gone either way. Thank you to the 13 Kellyville players who understand what over 35s football is about.

We made it very plain the standard we expect. Background to it but unacceptable. Well done on your boys moving on. Easy for me to say it was a great game as we shaded it. Pretty sure you'll be in the 4

Great game at Bernie today, despite the loss Winso coming good, and with a bit of luck at the end, could have turned a lot of pressure into an equaliser, shame I couldn't make mcduff's prediction come true. Kellyville lucky to have borrowed a couple from the under 15s on their Dad's passports to give them a bit of speed and agility! Interesting result at Ermo, where we travel next up. Big win, big loss with Pendo going the other way. Lots of teams now with one win and one loss, so should be great season. If its all played in the spirit of 79 and a half minutes of todays game then bring it on!

Hi All, Parra City team is made up of 3 players from last year's team, the rest have all gone back to Southern Districts and playing wait for it, All Age!!! We have 3 players who were registered in Div 1, i said registered cause they didnt play too much last year. And before that these players all played Div 4 and 5. The rest are from last years Div 4 team. We expect to be competitive but will also lose a few players to overseas trips mid year and unfortunately many of our games clash with our sons games that we also coach. All in all should be a good year. We had a good start with a 6-3 win over Auburn FC at Eric Primrose. No referee but Auburn FC spectator volunteered and did a good job. Natural whinging from both sides but thought the ref handled everything well. I think we play Kellyville this week at BMC. Good Luck to all teams this year hope we all stay injury free and healthy. Truth, your guys that good, or the opposition that bad? Combo of them both? Hopefully the round 3 game will be a little more competitive that last year's games!!

Stopper, Wenty only turned up with 9 players despite having 18 registered. They lost another early in second half and then another with 10 mins to go, so onnly had 7 in the end. So we did do it comfortably through the game. Yes im expecting more competition when we play you guys in 2 weeks. This year's side is good but we have lost most of the younger players from last year, the ones that could actually run and had speed haha. But we still ok i think. Looks like Ermington and Winsto are good sides as well as well as u guys. Time will tell no doubt. See u in 2 weeks mate

They only had 10 against us round 1, gained an 11th, and then got one sent off 30 seconds later. If they get a full bench, I expect they will win a few games this season.

So, after what was HOPEFULLY our worst game of the season against Pendo last week (the first time in about 3 years we've have 5 put past us), we are at home this week to fellow mid table placed Winsto and aiming to get back on the winners list, which I think we will do. My predictions are Ermo 2-0 Winsto, Auburn 4-1 Wenty, Pendo 3-0 Lidcombe and the top of the ladder clash Kelly 2-2 Parra. Good luck to all and let's hope the rain stays away so we all get our games played.

Tips for this week
Ermo 0 -Winsto 1. With our number three keeper between the sticks we should be able to keep a clean sheet and sneak a late winner. Auburn 1 - Wenty 1. Wenty to bounce back with numbers Pendo 3 - Lidcombe 0. Easy win for Pendo Ville 1 - Parra City 3. Parra City too good and will go top on their own.

Ermo 4 - Winsto 2 In front throughout the game. Winsto had their chances. Fair game (dubious pen for 4th goal that finished the result but was contact in box). Good bunch of guys

After today's result (Parra 3 Kellyville 0) can someone please explain why they moved from division 1 to division 2?

Giggsy we were moved when GDSFA realised that half the team came from last years 35/4s and 3 players left over from the 2s. The team was nominated in 3s initially but were happy to play in 2s. We have yet to play Winston Pendo and Ermington so lets reserve judgement til then
