As oldref said Winsto 5-0 over Dundas, it was 3-0 at the break and a couple in the second half sealed the win. Game was played in great spirits.. Looks like we have finished Round 1 now and get set to start it all again...
Winsto 4-0 over Guildford.. 1-0 at the break (although I was wrong last week) 3 second half goals secured a good win.. Game played with no dramas, ref and 2 x AR.s was good.. Esky was good thanks s week, prawns and all....

Auburn District 2 - 0 over Toonie. A good game with no dramas. Toonie hit the post at least 6 times. Auburn's 2 early goals proving the difference. No major dramas with their referee, although he should have definitely awarded us a penalty when they brought one of our blokes down in the box.

Toonie 3-0 over Dundas. A good game played in great spirits. Lots of offsides (mainly us), but thankfully we had a ref and 2 linesman. Had a ref who liked to hand out plenty of yellows and he had some strange calls. Overall a good game however, the Dundas boys are a good bunch of blokes.
Winsto had a good win over Auburn FC, 5-0.. Another solid display by the boys, with a couple of cracking finishes.. Good to have a ref and 2 x AR's as well.. Is boy George looking for a game of soccer? I'm sure he could slot a few away once he got in behind the defences...

Toonie 3 - 2 Guidlford
Go figure. One of the cleanest games I have ever been involved in yet it finished with 9 yellow cards and 2 red cards. Both teams finished with 10 men but absolutely nothing dangerous or malicious involved. Always great to get officials to a game but unfortunately 2 weeks in a row the same referree has ruined a good afternoon. I can understand referees wanting respect and not copping abuse but the last 2 weeks have been comical to say the least. Dundas last week and Guidlford today were a good bunch of guys. Nothing bad in either game.
But some of the things cards were issued for today were ridiculous. Treating grown men like kids when at no stage the game threatened to get heated was a joke. Not sure what he was trying to achieve - yes he had a couple of young linesmen but again both teams treated each with respect.
As for the game itself, Guidlford went up 1-0 early with Toonie fighting back with a couple of well finished goals to go to the break 2-1 up. A Toonie penalty midway through the second half made it 3-1 before Guildford got 1 back with about 10 minutes to go. Toonie holding on for the win.

Toonie 2-1 over Auburn FC in a catchup game on a cold night & Webbs Ave. Auburn was up 1-0 after 10 mins via a spot penalty. Even costed for the rest of the game, both teams had chances. We got 1 back with 10 to go via a cracking strike from 25 out. 3 mins later we netter another to go 2-1 up. A Good last 6 mins, with Auburn having some chances, but not been able to get 1 back.

Toonie 3-2 over Wenty. We were 2 nil down after 15 mins due to a backpass gone wrong and then a own goal from a head back to keeper that went awry. Next 15 was fairly good until the switch flicked in one of the Wenty players and he just went nuts and received 2 yellow cards in quick succession. Then decided at half time to go bananas abuse his team mates and threatened one of our players. The Ref to his credit went and got the Wenty President who was in the Canteen and escorted him from the field.
Being a very wide field, we used that to our advantage. And clawed our way back into it. Scoring goals in the 20th, 25th & 30th minute to take the game. Felt sorry for the rest of the Wenty players. Apart from that blow up, there wasn't really any major dramas. The ref did a really great job in controlling the situation.

Auburn District 2 Winston Hills 2, we were so lucky getting out with a draw against such a quality team. Our team this year is plagued with injuries: broken ribs, ruptured ACLs, back, ankle, everything lol. I guess we are getting old !! Well in this game we started with 9 players against a full side, scored two goals, a 10th player joined in. In the last 20 minutes one of our players got injured and had to go off pitch so we became 9 again, our defences could not withstand the cyclone of attacks carried by the talented Winston Hills boys, especially number 18, he killed my life, however it is really a joy to watch him play lol. It's funny I am trying to get the ball off him and at the same time admiring his skills lol. I hope we have the numbers to continue the next games.. Good luck to everyone..
Winsto got up 1-0 over Toonie.. Game played in great spirits.. The only cranky bloke out there was the ref, he was having a go at everyone, including the lads on the side of the field that turned up for a kick around.. The ref was entertaining at least...

Agreed Newhill. Good natured game from both teams. Toonie probably just gave Winsto too much respect and let them dominate the midfield. Did enough to neutralise the #18 but there were others in midfield just as dangerous.
With respect to the referee, don't know whether to laugh or cry. We have had him 3 home games in a row and he is a joke.
I think we'd love another crack at the number 1 team in the comp come finals time.
