How'd everyone go yesterday? We were the (un)lucky ones to draw the bye first up. At least we didn't have to play in the heat I suppose.
I heard the Winsto Whites beat Greystanes 2-1.

Lidcombe 4 Pendo 5 Pretty low intensity game played in the right spirit with no referee, Pendo yoo wasteful in front of goal while Lidcombe took their chances.
Any other round 2 scores

Ermington 2 Winsto Black 2
Our first game of the season and it showed, we were very scrappy and fatigued very early. Ermington have got one of the best passing games I've ever seen at this level, every player gets involved as the ball goes from one side of the field to the other and back again. They just lacked a quality finish upfront I think. As is the case with any draw both teams probably feel a little unlucky not to have won with chances being wasted by both teams.
Now we have to wait two weeks to have another kick...

Winsto wht vs parra city.not the best way to start a season 1 game then 2 weeks off. Didnt play well in the conditions. Take nothing away from city, we got dominated. Lost 7-0. Just hope we have a better showing next week

Winsto Blk 12 Lidcombe 1
Could be a very long year for Lidcombe. New team and a nice bunch of guys, but they were all on different pages and lacked a star or two. Won't help them next week that one of their better players got two yellows both for back chatting the ref.
Agree with you bears4life about the break not helping. We only had the one week off but had the bye in round one. Been many years since I've had a comp with a bye in it and it wasn't good time to cop it so early in the season imo. I'm sure there are teams with injuries who would love it now I suppose.

Pendo 2 Holroyd 5
Holrord taking their chances with Pendo denied a penalty for a clear hand ball and another goal ruled out for offside despite our striker clearly coming from behing a defender to head in a cross, frustrations getting the better of Pendo with a late send off. Funny moment when referee attempted to book a player on the adjoining field merely for asking about the safety of players with alluminium studs.

Winsto wht v wenty . Winsto got up 3-2. A game of 2 halfs. Winsto in the first, wenty in the 2nd. The ref handed them an equaliser through a penalty. Got the goods with a late goal though. Going to be another tough year, with a few good teams in the grade

Holroyd 4 Winsto Blk 2
Played with 10 after a few of the boys thought they'd head to Adelaide for the A League decider. Holroyd aren't a team you want to be short against, very good passing game (similar to Ermington. Would be interesting so see those two play against each other actually) so they made us do plenty of running. I am confident with a full squad the result would have been a little different but I guess we'll find out in 9/10 weeks.

Greystanes 4 Pendo 2 Pendo keeper handed greys there first 2 goals with absolute howlers and from then on tough even game,a few good teams in this comp and I still believe anyone can win, just depends who turns up to play and if the ref allows a good clean game downside was the ref allowing the previous game to finish at 3.20 even though greys 21's had only 8 players, highlight seeing the pendo player coach congratulating the greys 21's for playing till the end without dropping their heads.

Pendo 3 Winsto 3, Another game of 2 halfs, Winsto 3-1 up at half time despite starting with only 10 with Pendo getting an equaliser with the last kick of the game. Unofficial ref who handled the abuse pretty calmly.

Winsto Black 3 Greystanes 2
Couldn't have asked for a worse start, Greystanes tearing us to shreds from the kick off and scored two well worked goals. We looked half asleep as both goals went to an unmarked player at the back post. Once someone decided to defend that guy we settled into the game and it was a very even sort of game. Up and back the whole time. I think we finished the half the stronger but we needed to after that start. I can't remember if it was 2-1 or 2-2 at Half time to be honest. Second half and we just nudged the better of the chances I thought and put ourselves ahead 3-2 with about 15 to go. Plenty of tired legs to finish the game but we held on for a great come from behind win.

Pendo v winsto game was a great game to play. Both sides had easy missed chances. Last 20 mins were ruined by the most blatant one sided refereeing I've seen in a while. This gave pendo a way back into the game, and they were good enough to equalise as winsto had run out of legs.

Tim 12345, what issues have you had with Parra City? Winning 7-0 against Winsto was a bit of a surprise to me just can't get a read on which teams are the ones to watch this year.

The 7 nil win over winsto was a couple of weeks ago, and by the way winsto played, it could've been more. Although the shifty buggers did write down 9-0 on the team sheet, when it was only 7. They are a good side but definitely not unbeatable. There were also 2 penalties in our game against parra city. Can you be a little bit more specific tim.

Parra 2 Pendo 0 Good even game played hard but fare by both teams, Pendo unlucky not to lead at half time after hitting the posts with keeper beaten, Parra scored off a long throw in the second half after ball wasn't cleared by Pendo and ball was tapped in. Second goal came in the last minute when Parra player controlled the ball with his hand and slotted home. Both teams frustrated by some curious decisions least of all the 35m first half followed by a 46m second half.

Winsto Black 2 Winsto White 1
Very even first half that went end to end until the whites started to tire and we had the better of the chances to close the half, scoring two goals in the last 10 mins before the break. We thought the second half would go to the same script but after an even start instead it was the Whites who finished the game the stronger, scoring with 10 to go and having a last second shot cleared off the line.
