OKO, How are the GDFRA active numbers looking this season. Will there be sufficient numbers to cover competitive games within the GDSFA competition?

442,
I am no longer on the committee, so I am unsure how the numbers are.
If you mean cover every single game, then the answer would be no.

Thank you OKO, maybe a GDFRA person can advise.

Hey Creepy, "Become a referee or learn the laws" is an interesting title...are those two activities mutually exclusive? I've started my stopwatch, OKO.

Question.. regarding U/35
If you slide tackle inside the box is it a penalty or free kick..?
This happened yesterday & ref awarded a free kick which we all could not understand ..
Thanks

From GDSFA By laws applying to the O35 competition:
4. Sliding Tackles Sliding tackles are not permitted in Over 35 games. For an infringement of this rule, the referee will award an indirect free kick. For repeated infringements of this rule, a player may be cautioned by the referee.

Thanks WsWanderer Technically you questioned U/35 and in under 35 the slide tackle is permitted if performed in a safe manner.... If you mean Over 35, then the rule is per the response and as long as it isn't a dangerous challenge it should be an indirect free kick

Hi guys, this is one for you:
In normal time of a normal game, team receives a penalty, coach subs someone on to take the penalty, then subs him off after the penalty has been taken. I have asked officials and they ALL agree that: sub can be made as the ball is not in play, any player on the field can take the penalty, sub can be made after the penalty is taken as the ball in not in play again. So it is OK to do this. PLEASE if there is a rule on this could someone please post it here.

Only a person on the field at the time a free kick is awarded if allowed to take the kick. However, a substitution/interchange can be taken, but the player coming onto the field can NOT take the kick.

Is the match official responsible for the "technical area".? Please elaborate. Week in week out, coaches and managers are observed up & down the sideline even on the opposite side of the field.

Coaches and Managers are responsible for the technical area.
They are all told this by their clubs.
However some Managers and Coaches are less responsible than others.
