KV : Corner ref! Auburn player kicks ball to corner flag indicating that it is a KV corner! Auburn Ref on halfway line : " No is goal-kick" Auburn player : "Ref I kicked it out - its a corner!" Ref : Goalkick - play on!!
That was one of about 30 incidents with the most entertaining one being the penalty he awarded them for our keeper diving on the ball - deemed a slide tackle and penalty given!!! Auburn we are not whingers and can take a loss( just ask Winston Hills) - I would rather give you the points than have to go through that again!! Their striker stood 20 yards offside for most of the game - think he knew something we didn't - go figure!! Would luv to have had something nice to say about our game - sorry!!

Good to see things haven't changed since last year. We had similar incidents to that where we kicked the ball out and were given the throw in. So we just threw it back to them - the referee didn't like this but both teams did this all game - so much so that the referee blew the whistle, we stopped and their striker didn't stop and went on and scored. We asked the ref why did he play on when he blew the whistle to which he replied that he didn't mean to blow the whistle so it was play on and that we should play to the whistle - we then told him that we did stop when the whistle went but he told us we shouldn't have.
Auburn were good enough to let us run, untouched from the kick off and score to even this out.
I dont play in this comp but have played alongside and know plenty of the Toonie team and they would never not give 100%. To come on here and say they didn't put in a solid effort is very disrespectful to them, considering they only had 10 some of whom were injured and you had a full bench maybe it was your effort that was lacking to only win by 2 and not Toonies..........

The arguing was as a result of Lidcombe players not being able to decide amongst themselves as to who would take down the nets at the end of the game. It had nothing to do with the numerous missed opportunities.
Chameleon I only commented it was a solid effort from our boys didnt say you played poorly. I actually think it was a good effort from our boys because I thought your team was good. No one is happy to lose but on Saturday 3-1 wasnt all doom and gloom. Considering you beat Auburn by 4.
Look forward to the next round as the game was played in good spirit.
Freekick training is booked in for your team in a fortnight.
The goal ted scored on the weekend was a screamer dont get me wrong, but when he turns around and shakes his head saying it was miskick sort of gave it away. Doug please teach him a poker face for his next goal.
