anfield1892 I completely agree a grand final does not show who the best team is but you have to admit it's a great feeling to win one. Kellyville haven't quite understood what finals football is about in the past but of they are able to continue their current form and keep scoring as many goals then I struggle to imagine them not winning both the minor and gf this year. The first game between kellyville and greystanes will be crucial to deciding this year but we still can't forget about auburn and Granville who have suffered some rough losses but are capable of playing great football in their day. My pick for the top 4 is still Kellyville Greystanes Auburn Granville
who is this steve HERO, pull your head in son or you mite be disapointed once again, greystanes are not a team of stars, just a bunch of guys that have tried to stick together as much as possable over 9 yrs to keep the team going. as it is not easy in an old area with no new young families moving in when a player moves out of the area.
some of these guys come from as low as 3 division & grind there way week in week out.
kellyville is bloody good side, no one has douted that. but with the soccer system we play under, you have to go all the way 21 rounds not just 18.
Any results from the weekend?? Kellyville defeated Pendo 8-0. A gutsy effort from Pendo, they never stopped trying right to the end. Apparently this was the first time Pendo have had a reserve this year. A good clean game played in good spirits by both teams. Unofficial ref had an easy job to do.
I know the spectators enjoyed the game between Kellyville and Pendo. Kellville didn't score until 30 minutes and were 2-0 up at half time. Towards the end of the second half Kellyville showed their class but it was a determined effort by the Pendo team half of whom are 16 and 17 year olds playing Div 1 for the first time. A very clean game played hard and a delight to watch.
Kellyville beat Greystanes 3-1 on the weekend. Greystanes were very unlucky not to score more with all the shots they had. A very even match which showed the quality of both sides. Both teams passed very well and defended well. This match should lead to a few more interesting encounters between the two sides this year.
well said keepers, it was a good game & how greystanes lost i will never know. but thats how it goes you have to take your chances, kellyville had three half chances & took them. greystanes had missed an open goal in the first 10 minutes. & that was how the day was going to end up.. it could have been 2 4 or 6 nill to greystanes at half time & 8 10 or even 12 nill at full time, they made heaps of chances but could not put them away. as we all say you must put them in the back of the net not over the top. kellyville will be more than happy & lucky to win that match. it was a good hard fair game.
Piston, That's complete bollocks that we only had 3 half hcances and were lucky to win the game. Greystanes were all over us for the first 10 minutes. That is the only period of the game where Greystanes were 100% on top. Kellyville had a period after the first goal where Greystanes couldn't get a touch of the ball.
What is with your comment 12-0 at full time? You can't count every single one of your half chances as a goal, whilst completely disregarding all 3 of Kellyville's goals and each of their shots.
How were Kellyville's goals half chances? That is complete bullshit. Kellyville are happy about winning the game, but saying we were lucky to win is unfair.
We were also missing 2 of our best players through injury and we had a completely new pair in the middle of the park.
Overall, it was a tough game played by both teams.
it doesn't supprise us at all that you or someone would say that. 2 headers from 2 corners turned into 2 goals & that is a fact. & well done. how many headers from how many corners for greystanes went over the bar. but this also happens. how many goal kicks did kellyville have through greystanes missing the target, ? but it happens.
we also had our stoper out as well & played a new player on the field that hasn;t played for 4 yrs & is a gaolkeeper & has never played on the pitch.
i am sorry but saying they where lucky to win i beleive is true by a country mile & i think plenty more people that were there would say the same. you can not have all those shots & miss & expect to win. all in all greystanes know they could have won & truely if the shots were on target who knows what the score could have been. but it wasn't the case on the day.

There is no way that scoring a header from a corner is a half chance. Greystanes dominated the middle of the park but, the finishing was very poor. Kellyville might not have made as many chances as you guys but that does not make us lucky to win. As a team we took the chances we were given.
"it doesn't supprise us at all that you or someone would say that".A bit harsh isn't it? It was an hard game where both teams had periods when they controlled the game. As your comment suggest, that does not make me or the team arrogant or big headed. We did not beat a team as strong as Greystanes through pure luck. We worked hard, defended brilliantly and finished well.
Perhaps Greystanes could have won if their finishing was better. That wasn't the case though. 12-0? is a bit much? Both teams are evenly matched and the games nearly always be decided by a couple of goals.
Results from the weekend anyone?? 7-0 win for kellyville over castle hill white. Can't complain when you play badly and still win by 7, having said that, castle hill never gave up and I believe that they are a better team than their position on the table shows.
Very entertaining match between Pendle Hill and Granville Waratah. Pendo were up 2-0 at half time. In a seesawing game Granville came out on top at the end 7-4. Sustained periods of good football from both teams.
Lilli Pilli will be the biggest test to date, they have a very imposing record over the past few years and will be very hard to beat. If you guys fire like your supporters know you can, you will give it a good shake. Suggest to anyone who has free time next Sunday and wants to see a quality game of football, get to this game, it should be a cracker. Venue and time unknown at this stage - stay tuned.
A quick summary of yesterday's State Cup Game Kellyville v Lilli Pilli 18s. The result 5-2 to LP.
Unfortunately, due to a number of injuries, work commitments and other reasons, Kellyville played most of the game with only 10 players against argueably the best 18s Club team in NSW with a four player bench. LP were brilliant with the ball and got off to a flyer with a couple of superbly constructed goals using the space very well, and a couple of easy ones to lead 4-1 at the break. By half time the Kellyville boys looked out on their feet with a couple carrying injuries that would normally have seen them sitting down. The score at full time could have been anything.
However, the second half saw one of the most courageous efforts seen in junior soccer. The Kellyville lads matched LP in every play and at times it looked like LP were the team with a player down. Kellyville scored again fairly early in the second half and at 4-2 had the LP coach a bit concerned as he made numerous subs keeping his team fresh. LP claimed their 5th goal late in the second half when the boys were spent. The parents and supporters could not have been prouder of the way the Kellyville boys dug in against such a quality opposition.
Good luck to LP in the Semi against its Association rivals Sylvania Heights, both great teams. Shows how strong football is in the Sutherland Association, the benchmark.
Congratulations Kellyville, hold your heads high and proud.
heard that 3 or more red cards had been handed out at the kellyville v auburn game. & bit of a scuffle. the red cards sound a bit serious. or did the ref loose control. i suppose we will find out what happened in due course.
lets all calm down in the end it is only a game.
with 10 men on sunday you would always struggle, but a good effert boys.
no red cards for kellyville against auburn on saturday. I was not at the game but by all comments from those that were there it was an absolutely terrible display by Aurburn A great effort from the kellyville guys in the state cup yesterday against a quality side from Lilli Pilli. It doesn't help having no reserves and then getting someone sent off after a brain explosion after alreadt receiving the free kick!!!!!!
