Baulko 1 - Merrylads 2. Baulko should have been up 3 or 4 at half time but went to the break 1 - 0. Second half was more even as Baulko tired with 1 reserve & merrylads with 4 kept the changes coming. With 10 to go Merrys got an indirect 10 metres out from a slide tackle & put it through the wall. With 5 to go one of our players was racial abused & ran up to the ref & grabded his arm to complain, he was told to go away & he touched him again he would be sent off, so I as captain also complained & was also told to go away, from the Merrys throw-in, the Merry striker backed into me, the whistle went but to my surprise a penalty was given as the ref said I had pushed the player in the back, bit hard when standing still with hands beside me, even the merry team could not believe it, I think it was if you want to complain this is what you get. Other than that the ref was OK. He was the son of one of the Merry's.
Baulko 0 Rams 9. Yesterday only one complant about the ref, today if you have official line person & ref you would think off sides would be called, if not the line person the ref can call. In line or half a metre may be to close to call but 2 metres, 4 goals, still would not have won but very demolilising.
Sat Dundas 1 Rams 0 A disappointing loss to last years 35/6 grand final winners. I wanted this win after our unfortunate season ending game in last years semis when their star player bounced it off my face and into the goal with 15 seconds to go. We missed lots of opportunities while Dundas capitalised on 1 of the relative few they had. The tall midfield/striker is only 1 of 11 but he makes a crucial difference to this team. Always close games and no incidents with Dunnies. Good game, we'll get you next round.
Sun Rams 9 Baulko Wht 0 A strong game today from the Rams. A lot of effort from the boys today off the back of yesterdays defeat to Dunnies. Haven't played this team before but they seemed off their game today. Maybe using borrowed players to replace missing team members made a difference, or dissatisfaction with the calls, I don't know. I know Baulko were upset with some offside rulings but can really only comment on their first dispute when we scored a goal and I disagree, all 3 of our players were onside when the ball was kicked through, just lightning fast ;-)
Given the lack of referees and being the father of a young referee who gave it up due to constant disputes, I think the Centre and young AR did a good job today. We had only 1 AR and she was assigned to *our BAULKOS* backline for BOTH halves. She was positioned correctly to make the call on each occasion and stoodfast despite all your appeals. We'll get perfect Refs the same day we get perfect players .....
Thanks for todays game Baulko. I think round 2 will be quite a different game than todays. Looking forward to it

Good game played in great spirit . Still scratching my head , how it turned out. We had 3 regulars out for the game , still we had subs while Merrylands did not. We missed alot of chances to get in the back of the net . A hand ball in the box by one ours and a stolen weak pass back to the keeper got Merrylands in front . The 2 forwards were quick on the turn and the long ball played to their advantage. we could have had this one but we let it go . On a brighter note I got 2 in the net , which betters my last seasons contibution by ..... 2.

Dundas 1 Rouse Hill 0 i saw this game ,,Rouse Hill controlled the middle part of the park for the majority of the game which in turn lead to a far amount of attacking options all of which did not get the ball in the back of the net , some desperate defence putting pressure on their men up front as well the dundas keeper pulled of some saves credit to him can be accredited to that,Dundas had limited opportunities for majority of the game but did create a fine goal which came from a midfield pass and a cross from the right wing that put the Rams defence under pressure and the ball was headed home ,and i will say that the rams keeper played a vital role in 2 other chances the dunnies had, credit to him ,,,,,,,,,the best i can say on Steadies game comments in relation to dunnies Mid/striker is mate u have a couple that make a crucial difference to your team as i think is the case in most teams from 1s to 6s ,,,,aint football a great game
You played on Saturday right? Right wing? Played a 'crucial' role in your fine goal?
I do agree mate. The make up of our team is typical of most O35 teams, mates playing together with a varied range of skills, me to carry the water bottles, our Egyptian Godfather to intimidate your defence, Princess to keep the bench warm, and our thistle blower to keep us laughing.
But having played you guys 3 times and watching your GF last year, he makes a difference. And so does the curly haired wild colonial looking fella

Because the bone wasnt displaced (Luckily I think the calf took the brunt of the impact) The Surgeon said there was no point in operating or setting the leg in acast. So I have a CAM Boot and crutches for the next 4-6 weeks
