I concur with Direstraights, play the game the way it should be played and there is no need for the ref to show a card. I know of blokes at my club that have played for years without ever seeing a card from the ref, and I'm sure most refs would prefer not to have to show either colour.
I (and I’m sure Lyn) fully agree with your comments. All we are saying is that certainly most refs would not describe giving yellow/red cards as the best moments of their refereeing times. Then why use it as an avatar. But again this avatar thingy is not intended to be that serious
So that you all make an informed decision when voting, the word is that CHU is getting 4 or so of the rep players back for next year and may lose one of their current player to reps. Any comments Ona? KK also has a player in reps next year. Not sure about the rest.

To all in GDSFA . . .from Cdad and OKO,Merry and Ona, Leeds and Kiffo, to my new bestie Stan . .Merry Christmas one and all !!!!!
Cdad, I think it will be interesting if we go to an 8 team comp next year. They will have more than 8 applications for sure. PCYC seem to only enter teams into D1, oblivious to the tables. I know for a fact that Merryman will be filthy if they get bumped back . .he has been doing some recruiting, apparently. CHU could probably enter 2 or 3 teams into D1 . . . seeing that they didnt lose too many to reps this year.. The best way not to lose too many to reps is to just send 1 kid to rep trials . It's called The "D" word.
Any new players for you, Cdad ? I've had the 3 best players from 2 nearby clubs come to trial with us for next year. You may even recognise a couple of them who missed the opportunity to play under great coaching.
Seems that everyone is strengthening their team this year. Nothing known about our team’s make up till at least Jan 31 when we have our registration. Very likely that we will pick up a player from another association. I’m thinking we may need another couple of strong new players to see us competitive in the top four again this year.
These teams will nominate for Div 1 and will get a place (the only certainties):
Castle Hill United
That would only leave two places vacant.
Dundas will get a place if they nominate for division one. They might get a place even if they don’t nominate.
PCYC will get a place if they put a team together and nominate for division one.
If one of the above don’t get a place, Wendy is in next.
If there is still a place left (that is if neither Dundas nor PCYC nominate) Merrylands is in if they nominate.
What would be more interesting is that if it is a 10 team comp and PCYC don’t have a team, who would be the 10th team in the comp. Baulkham hills which I don’t believe are ready for Div1, a second team from CHU or a second team from Winsto. I don’t believe we should have a second team from either club.
EDIT: As the question was Who I thinks makes an 8 team comp, that’s exactly what I have stated here. Who I would like to make an 8 team comp is not necessarily the same .
Well it has been a while but I thought that I might just throw in a question or two.
What would happen if all ten teams from last year nominate for an eight team comp?
Would it not be the top eight teams from last season?
Personally I do not think that the eight team comp should come in this season. If it is going to change then make it for next season so at least the bottom few clubs know in advance that if they finish in the bottom two, then they will go down & it will give everybody something to play for, for the whole season.

Hey Leeds, Good to see you back !. I agree with you that it's really too late to bring it in this season.
OKO, And good to hear from you again. No need to get upset. Team A and B were both imaginary teams. I picked typical good and bad points of any team/club . . .including mine. "A", or "B" did not represent any 1 particular club/team. And I thought I was being half polite when I didn't even mention team C , or development.. I can also see that my disclaimers need beefing up. No probs OKO, it's early yet. I will change tack .
On the point of nomination, coaches do what they think is best for their team while the comp sec gives higher priority to the best interest of the comp. I’m not sure if its right or wrong but some coaches prefer their team being a finalist in a division rather than being 7th or 8th in a division above that. On the other hand some other coaches prefer the experience and intensity of the higher division for their kids even if they may not belong there. The point is I believe nominating for division 1 should not necessarily get you there and not nominating for it shouldn’t necessarily leave you out of it.
Good to hear from you Leeds. In my opinion 8 team comp are a better option when looking at the bigger picture. Of course I’m not saying that you haven’t considered the bigger picture.
