It really isn't that hard to work out who I am talking about, just look at the Celtic team from the 1967 European Cup Final and there is only one player with the initials BL. That is the player that my friend insists was playing for CHU on Saturday.
In the 45/2s, North Rocks had to come from behind to reach 1-1 at full time against Winston Hills. 10 minutes each way of extra time couldn't resolve the deadlock and the youth-challenged 23 on the field (yes, including you oldref) looked pretty pleased to reach the end of extra time. Thereafter, penalty shots were all successful until Winston Hills missed their 4th, allowing North Rocks to secure a win with their successful 5th shot. Thank you to Lidcombe Waratah for hosting on what ended up being a very challenging exercise for them.

Kv 0 v chu 3. Perhaps when I have a bit of time I might give a little report. Needless to say the. Scoreline was not a true reflection of the game and flattered chu. Proud of the team but today kv might be thinking of the one that got away.
Well done castle hill, we had chances but it just didn't happen. The little Irishman did it again with two goals, one in each half to kill off the game. Ville hit the wood work twice and CHU keeper made two top class saves. Good game with the final score not a true reflection of the game.
3.0 and flattering to CHU....I'd say they were better than KV all year by 3 goals....From what I saw they were truly winners yesterday....and KV blk, you only scored one goal against them all year....
Really flaming that is disrespectful from the loser to say that
Except I didn't lose.
We have played ville 3 times this year...all games close...but yesterday was the first time I felt under the pump for extended periods. I have no desire to be a spokesman for ville but simply that is the way the game felt to me.
Although Kellyville certainly had their chances yesterday with some good saves by the C Hill keeper & a free kick onto the inside of the post & then across the goals I was still pretty confident that we would still win. And that is no disrespect to Kellyville. We missed some clear cut chances, the keeper made a couple of good saves & we had 2 very big penalty shouts to no avail?? It was a tough match though as the GF should be & very enjoyable to be a part of. There was a fifteen to twenty minute period at the start of the second half where the wheels appeared to be falling off but Kellyville just could not take advantage & once the second goal was scored, although they certainly didn't stop trying, they knew it was going to be very tough to get back into the match.
Well done to C Hill. MP & GF winners three years on the trot is a pretty good effort & we can all be very proud. I know I am.
We have not heard from thethinker or atticus for a long while? Would love to hear their final thoughts of the season & the GF??
I was very sorry to hear that Winsto lost their GF. Going through the entire season winning every match & then losing the big one must be very hard to accept, especially by the dreaded penalty shoutout. Bad luck guys. Looking forward to having you back up in Div 1 next season though. Well done to N Rocks.
Yeah it was a bummer that flamin was out but that is the way it goes. Our stand in keeper did pretty well considering. The better team won but the score was probably a little misleading. And yes we did have some chances ourselves in both halves, I couldn't even hit the target with my effort.
Anyway, another very enjoyable season is over. See you all next year.
