Hi Leeds, Can't believe the run of bad luck your boys are having. You are going to have to turn that around next week. From what I observed, the boys don't take their chances, through skill and passing they make it up to the 18 yard box easily, but don't shoot, they hold onto the ball too long waiting for the perfect open shot, or someone else to pass to. They just need to take the shot quickly and not hold on so long, ones bound to go in, or the keeper may drop it and follow through.
A fair analogy fairgo. The 17's played a friendly v us old 45's on Easter Saturday & should have pumped us with the chances they created (mainly due to their speed compared to us) but they could only put one away whereas we put three away. As I have not been able to see any of their comp matches this year I cannot comment on whether it is bad luck or just poor play.
Hopefully they can turn it around starting this weekend.

Hi leeds, i am sure the boys will do it this weekend and be ready when they play state cup in 2 weeks. We play sunday against normanhurst at ray marshall on Sunday. They are in a strong comp and coming first with similar results to us. We have a few players off with injuries which will make it a tough game. Hopefully we can make the next round. Anyway a full weekend of soccer which i will enjoy! Cheers, Fairgo
Auburn District played normanhurst in state cup, really tuff game we were leading in first half and then a normanhurst player hand balled the ball from his hand to his foot , a very deliberate stop the ball with his hand, not accidental, and volleyed it into goal. The linesman put his flag up for Auburn free kick and ref over rode the linesman and allowed it. Went into golden goal and then penalty shootouts and lost by one. They are a formidable team but we had 3 of our defence players off and didn't have our players in usual positions. With a full team the result would been different, in fact if the hand ball goal wasn't allowed it would have been different! If any granville team has to play them we videoed the game. Good luck to those granville teams next fortnight.
Watched until 5 minutes after half time & C Hill were up 0-2 at the time. They were completely outplaying Winsto & deserved their lead. Was good to be able to see the team play for the first time this year. The Winsto coach reffed the match & handled one situation very well. A C Hill player swore but not directed at anyone. The ref told him that he could book or send him off but other than speaking to the player took no action. May not have been to the letter of the law but handled very well unlike another ref on the same day.
The law is clear, foul or abusive is a straight red. Periodically the Football Body issues edicts telling the Referees to enforce the letter of the law.
Any Referee should enforce the laws equally. Having said that, sometimes man management is best. However, you can it into trouble from the powers that be for not following protocol. It is hard to criticise a Ref for doing the correct thing.
Any opinions expressed here are mine alone and not necessarily indicative of any formal Referee's body unless otherwise stated.
Hi leeds good to see another win for CHU.! Yes my angry post was removed by the powers that be. Perhaps i should have said rydalmere forfeited despite offer by Auburn District to replay on another day but declined and leave it at that for others to form their opinion. I heard a black and white ref recently tell players he will card players swearing if directed at someone as abuse, but not if due to frustration. I suppose frustration could be the penaty shot the players makes and misses and swears to himself. Obviously safer not to swear. Congrats to CHRSL on your win. Hard luck for winsto and ermo. I think winsto has some good strong players but dont seem to put it together. Good luck to teams in state cup!
Wow, I feel important again by having you join the thread!!
It is a shame then that the LOTG are not enforced at the top level. If they were then maybe the kids would realise what they can & cannot do. I certainly agree with you that the circumstance should determine the punishment on the day.
As I said, the ref in the match handled it very well.
