Turk61 Referee numbers have been a problem all season across all age groups. Just look at this weekends allocations on the GDSFA web site
On another note, its a shame you need to forfeit any game. 16 yr olds should thrive on playing football games and their parents should be encouraged to participate in the children's sport.
And there is a very good reason we don't get refs, the amount of crap they cop from coaches, parents and players is appalling, who would bother when all you do is cop sh1t from all the so called experts.

CHRSL 1 Regents Park nil
A good game played in terrific spirit, with no problems at all. Black & White ref kept good control, but after recent incidents, Regents Park are to be congratulated for the attitude of players, coaching staff & parents today.
Turk61 - great game on the weekend, you guys are one of my favourite teams to verse. I hope the boy that came off who fell on his arm is ok. Your goalkeeper as well was amazing at shot stopping.
Having been a state league ref for the past few years, I do know what the young kids go through copping all the crap from the experts on the sidelines, and with the number of experienced refs decreasing in GDFRA, it will most likely only get worse. Something does need to be done to control the people on the sideline. I know GDSFA put the team official rule into place, but really all that's done is made a spectator think they have extra authority.
For me personally even as a 16/17 year old, I had no problem dealing with abuse from the coaches or spectators, not there was much because I was so fantastically brilliant
I know with Merrylands, we have plenty of qualified refs who are not registered with the Association but who are at the park almost every weekend to fill in any games that are not covered (and at Merrylands that is a majority of them)
Newington 2 Auburn fc 2,Auburn fc scored on full time but the referee did not give the Goal as he said it was to late we were on the attack score the goal on the full time whistle even the Newington Coach agreed that it should of been counted as a goal Our Auburn fc boys played with no subs plus most of them were fasting credit goes to Newington boys as they played in good spirit. How did the other U16s games go,Hope Castle Hill RSL Won their state Cup Semi final game today anyone no the score.

Big credit to Turk and Auburn FC. Definitely been improving since the start of the season judging by results. Well done coaching staff.
Being new to this league, i heard a lot of positive things about the standard before the season started. I have never seen a league so fast and physical. Extremely competitive and tough. Credit to all teams involved.
Would like to see teams use it a bit more on the deck, that seems to be the difference from Division 1, to the next step up. However The top 4 sides could easily compete in a higher level.
Only disappointing factors for me have been lack of referees (as already noted i can see) and parents on the sidelines. Parents should not be getting involved in the games, e.g. Yelling at the ref or telling players what to do. We as parents should trust our coaches and cop the good and bad calls as they come.

St. Augustine FC 3 defeated CHRSL 1
RSL simply not good enough on the day. Started slowly, perhaps a bit of rust from lack of any game for previous 2 weeks, but this is not an excuse. St Augustine played a great game with the added bonus of a player who consistently threw the ball into the 6 yard box from anywhere at our end of the field! - it was amazing for an U16.
RSL never gave up and clawed back to 1-2 with about 10 mins to go which sent some nerves through the opposition but it was not to be our day. Regardless the boys did themselves, the club, coaching staff, parents and GSDFA proud with their achivement of making the semi finals and accepting defeat with great sportsmanship.
