bears4life - You may well be correct. I'll need to double check with the team because no-one talked about it afterwards, we were mainly disappointed at losing time. I guess the fact that it wasn't a red-worthy foul, he stayed on the field and your guys didn't really make a fuss must have thrown me. Do you know why he was asked to leave? I was about 5 metres away from the foul and it the ref's initial response was that he had warned him before and that was now an "official" yellow (it was pretty similar to what our strikers were copping but our guy was a repeat offender). He did go on to have a conversation with the ref for a while and I was chatting to one of your players who wanted him to accept the yellow instead of whinging. So maybe back-chat?
It's pretty harsh to say we were the only ones out on ours legs considering we had scored 5 min earlier and then your keeper made a great 1 v 1 save. I think we needed this result more than you. A draw is as good as a loss to us but luckily Winsto Wht did us a favour and beat Holroyd. Of the teams left to play Castle Hill is the only one we have beaten so next week's match against Holroyd is a must-win if we are to have any chance.

From my understanding, the ref warned the player after he took out our striker when we scored. When he did it the 3rd time, he sent him off, which is why they were arguing. Your player walked off the field a minute later when his mate told the ref to call full time. My thoughts were that he had received 2 yellow cards. Apart from him, it was a good game. It would have been interesting if we had played the final 20 odd minutes. I guess with the comp being so close, and 3rd and 4th still being up for grabs, a win would've helped us get a top 4 spot, and we felt we were on top at that stage. It'll be an interesting last couple of weeks for a few teams.
Yep my mistake. He was indeed asked to leave the field but it was mainly for the backchat. I was completely unaware of this and it looks like some of your team were as well based on their comments while we were waiting for the free kivk to be taken. I did notice that he had left the field to talk to one of our player's dads but i thought he was only on a yellow and was going to jump back on once he had calmed down because we played about 5 min with you guys attacking down the side of the field he was meant to be on.
I'm feeling mixed emotions because it was "our" time-keeper that made the call but he has screwed us over as much as he has Winsto.
We can both agree that the scenario was farcical and it seems that it was done more for the petulant reason of "if he can't play then no-one can" because our team really needed the win because a draw and a loss leave us in the same position of having to beat Holroyd on Saturday.
Horrible conditions for football today with the wind blowing the ball everywhere. We were able to deal with it better than Holroyd, scoring early, just before HT and just before FT for an important win in the end.
We have Castle Hill RSL tomorrow and hopefully haven't spent too much energy today as a win there + a Winsto Blk win or draw against Holroyd will put us through.
I'm out on holiday for 4 weeks so that ends my time here unless we make the GF. Good luck to all for the rest of the season (but hopefully the boys can set me up for one more game this year).
Whites playing short and scoring in the first 2 minutes and it was game on. We managed to get a couple of goals back n the floodgates eventually opened.
Many thanks must go to the guy who stepped in to ref, he did a good job even in tense times when the game threatened to boil over. definatly no issues between the teams but Derbys seems to bring that added spice. Once the game settled there was no issues.
Game was fairly evenly fought out with blacks going up 1-0 in the first half due to a great solo goal but come second half we fought back and leveled it up after a lot of pressure in the winsto goal. After that the game could have gone either way but st nicks scored an absolute bullet from outside the box with 10 to go and then it became a wrestling match apparently they weren't happy. However unofficial ref didn't call much hats off to him for stepping up though it's a difficult task and at the end of the day good to come away with another win.
You have to love derby days, poor ref had a lot to deal with with the only thing going his way is the fact one of the whites refereeing his game today. Unfortunately for the whites the ref failed to call full time after 90 seconds and we had to battle on with 10 players, blacks scored 6 goals in final 20 minutes to blow out the scoreline so I just hope that with 20 registered players a few extras are available for the rest of the season.
W/hills blk v st michaels Winsto came out strong in the first half and dominated possession. 2nd half was a different story. St Micks came out and played like they wanted it more. A good game played by both teams, with a super shot to give them the winning goal.
W/hills blk v holroyd (Sunday catch up) Sunday games are always tough backing up. It helped when an official ref arrived just before kick off. Winsto on top majority of the game with holroyd scoring first from a counter attack. Winsto came back strong though and scored 5mins later, with another to follow a couple of minutes before half time. That's how the game finished. Winsto blk winning 2-1. Hopefully we can get another win on Thursday nights catch up game and try to secure a top 4 spot.

Yeah it was a good close game, much the same as our first encounter Sneaky. Sad that the match-winner was allowed given it went out by a good metre before swinging back in and being tapped in by your guy. As the old saying goes though you have to "play the whistle" and we didn't on that occasion.
I believe Winsto Blk beat RSL 2-1 on the other field.
Winsto blk v c/hill - Thursday catch up 2-1 winsto win. I don't know how these guys are last, in my opinion, they are better than a couple of teams lower in the comp. Winsto blk v ermington. A good start by ermington, but in the end, a pretty comfortable 3-0 win to winsto. Good spirited game played by both sides.

Winsto White 4 Greystanes 2
Stanes were all over us out of the blocks and I don't know exactly how quickly they were up 2-0 but it felt like it had only been 10 minutes. We were a bit all over the shop but we collected ourselves and ran out the first half looking the stronger. We had four subs to their one so perhaps that was the difference. We couldn't convert our chances though and it remained 2-0 at half time. Second half and I thought we looked the better team. We finally put one away, then scored a second off a keeper error to draw things level. We had a third disallowed as the ref brought us back for a free kick (no idea why advantage wasn't played) but then we scored off the kick anyway. Stanes pushed numbers forward looking to equalise but with the last kick of the game we made the score line look very flattering for us. A very satisfying come from behind win and happy to score four in a half against arguably the leagues best defence.
