This year shapes to be an exciting year ahead, with a lot of new teams entering the competition with only a few remaining from last years competition. Unless Granville has got their team list wrong, the defending champions Castle Hill United are not in the 21/1s this year which is a little bit of a surprise. Only three out of eight clubs are in the competition from last year, meaning there is a lot of unknown about the teams and the quality of players they have. Good luck to everyone involved and it should be a cracking season !
What's everyones prediction on who will win this year?

Unfortunately Super, that is sometimes the best way to handle a game as an unofficial ref, it often seems that if you are not a black and white that it is apparently ok to go the ref non stop with things that would not be tolerated by an official ref, drawing a clear line in the sand is often the best way.

I understand Shabby and in no way am blaming the ref, I know how hard it is to be the man in the middle having being a state league ref for the past few years. Would be nice though if we weren't put in these situations having no refs.
Let's all hope that the rain holds off and we are able to play tomorrow. Half the results are still not in from last week so it is hard to judge the strength of each team.
Castle Hill RSL v Greystanes BLK - This is what I would say is the game of the round. Castle Hill tops the table going into this round but it is rumored that Greystanes has a decent squad this year. I dare say they would have walked over the WHTs last week and looking to keep going with it. I'm predicting a goal fest.
Winston Hills v Holroyd Rangers- Both teams had some classic encounters last year and I doubt this game will be any different. With the assumption the sides are similar to last year it could really go either way. Although I think Winston Hills will take the cake and win by one or two goals.
Greystanes WHT v Wenty - Should be an easy win for Wenty. Greystanes was originally in division two but was moved up into division one. They are playing a dominant Wenty team that finished in the top 4 last year. Wenty by plenty.
Merrylands BLK v Merrylands WHT - These games are always interesting ones. After round 1 both teams are on polar opposites of the table, which doesn't really mean much. I'm trusting the clubs grading system and tipping BLK to win. Which would make BLK two from two and WHT rock bottom on the table with no points. Should be an interesting games to see which Merrylands team is in better form early on.
Should be an interesting round and hopefully the results come in a little bit earlier so we can gauge how each team is traveling.
Round 5 Preview We have some results through, but we are still waiting for one game to come through. I guess being this for results to be entered the clubs entered different scores. It would be interesting to see who won the Greystanes BLK v Castle Hill clash as both teams sit in the top 4.
Castle Hill v Winston Hills - Surprisingly Winston Hills has lost 2/2 which is an indicator they are no where near as good as last year? Although it is only early days in the season, plenty of time to turn things around. Only 1 or 2 goals in this one, but I think Castle Hill will prevail.
Greystanes WHT v Merrylands WHT - Judging by results both teams are in the shadow of the BLK equivalent in their clubs. It will be an interesting contest which I think will come out as a draw. Both teams have scored goals but I think they both need to work on not conceding.
Greystanes BLK v Wenty - The game of the round for sure. Both teams are first and second on the ladder and no doubt it shall be an entertaining contest. Wenty smashed Greystanes in round 2 and on that form I think they will be able to get over the line in this one. Although if all the results were in there might be a better indication if Greystanes BLK is any decent.
Merrylands BLK v Holroyd - Merrylands BLK should be able to steam passed Holroyd with not much difficulty at all. Holroyd don't seem like the force they were last year. In saying that, they started slow last year and came home strongly.
Round 3 (Catch-ups played Sunday) Greystanes WHT v Holroyd - Holroyd should be able to respond from their loss on Saturday and beat Greystanes WHT. Not by many, but a win is a win.
Greystanes BLK v Merrylands BLK - This certainly will be a game to watch. Greystanes do have a tougher encounter on Saturday and it be a test if they can back up or not. Can't predict which team will win, but I have a feeling one team will dominate the other.
PS: I don't really care nobody comments, I enjoy writing my round preview!
Merryboys Wht beat Greystanes Wht 6-3. 9 goals in a game should show just how open it was, first time this season we had an official ref, not only that but two linesmen as well. A lot of injuries in this game as well so fortunate that our Sunday game was postponed due to reasons un known to me, will have double headers the next 3 weeks with catch-ups and State Cup.
As you said Tika, both teams do need to work on defence. Props goes out to Greystanes CB and GK who both had really good performances, regardless of the score.

Round 6 Preview What an interesting round of football! Greystanes BLK who were mid-pack before the round have had impressive wins over Wenty and Merrylands BLK to have a 6 point lead over the competition. Congratulations to them.
Winston Hills v Merrylands BLK - Merrylands BLK had one win on Saturday and got crushed on Sunday. Should be able to rebound strongly and beat a struggling Winston Hills outfit. Merrylands BLK.
Holroyd Rangers v Greystanes BLK - Greystanes BLK seem too strong for Holroyd, with two wins over the hardest team in the competition over the weekend I can't see Holroyd beating them. Greystanes BLK.
Greystanes WHT v Castle Hill RSL - Greystanes WHT have been scoring a few goals, but they can't stop conceeding at the other end. Castle Hill should easily win. Castle Hill
Merrylands WHT v Wenty - Wenty have started off strong so I predict they will walk over Merrylands WHT by some margin. Although they will have to keep some energy in the tank for their Sunday clash. Wenty
Round 3 Catch up Wenty v Castle Hill - This would be a good game to watch. Both teams have shown potential, and I think only one or two goals will be in it. Wenty
Also good luck to the teams competing in State Cup on Sunday. Do Granville proud!!
Round 7 Preview Sorry guys it's a little late this week. A few interesting results from the last round of football. Castle Hill beat Wenty 6-2 to move up to second on the table, and Greystanes BLK came close to dropping points with a narrow 2-1 win over Holroyd.
Castle Hill RSL v Merrylands WHT - After coming off their big victory against Wenty, I can not see Merrylands WHT winning this won. Castle Hill should win comfortably.
Wenty v Holroyd - Even though Wenty lost last time they came out, I predict they will come back strongly and beat Holroyd. Holroyd are a decent squad so I don't think there will be many goals. 2-1 Wenty.
Merrylands BLK v Greystanes WHT - Merrylands BLK should win easily. Greystanes WHT is a division two side that is struggling to cope with the pace of division one.
Winston Hills v Greystanes BLK - Washed out.
Also congratulations to Greystanes BLK for their win in State Cup. Unfortunately the other two Merrylands teams lost their games and were subsequently knocked out.
It's been a long time in between drinks since my last post, sorry about that !
Congratulations to Greystanes Black to winning the minor premiership 7 points clear of Winston Hills. The Grand final has shown two upsets so far with Wenty coming from 4th place to knock out both Castle Hill and Winston Hills. Can they continue their stunning run of form and beat Greystanes or will Greystanes be too strong?
Judging from the results, and passed games between these two teams I dare say there will be goals and plenty of them. Both games this season have had over 7 goals in both fixtures, and I doubt the grand final will disappoint.
If people have time make sure you go to Max Ruddock to watch this classic encounter! It is a 2:50pm kick off, with the 18/1s being the curtain raise to the match.
Good luck to both teams, and good luck again to Greystanes Black in their Champion of Champions campaign.
I think that maybe Greystanes might be a bit cocky as they have been the form side this year BUT Pendle hill U17/1s won every game but lost the last two which would have got them to the GF so will Greystanes choke or not!
Wenty beat Greystanes black 1 nil, good game only bad incident a Wenty player while challenging for the ball broke his leg, 10 mins into 2nd half play was suspended while an ambulance was called, game was resumed on the bottom field 40 mins later, I hope the Wenty player is ok.
