My 2cents were we should stick to the two byes, a redraw would probably see some teams play each other 3 times but others twice which didn't seem fair. Considering the draw hasn't changed tomorrow I think it's staying as is.
With every team having defeated Lidcombe the logical thing would be to add the second draw, all they have to do is to change all second round results so that there isn't an issue with goal difference going into the semis
Winsto wht 1 wenty 3. No official ref again. Fill in referee was abysmal. Winsto had 2 clear penalties not given. I dont think winsto even had a free kick in wentys half thats how bad it was. Wentys first goal came from a free kick just outside the box cause there offside player was supposedly impeded. Winsto equalised with a decent solo effort from striker. Wentys 2nd goal was a cracker from outside the box, which had our keeper bamboozled. The 3rd goal came from a breakaway that the wenty striker got control of with his hand. Was a decent game but the Refereeing just frustrated winsto, to the point that it was comical what he wasnt calling.
Winsto Blk 3 Holroyd 0 Possibly our best game as a team this year, we seemed to pass the ball around a lot better. Pretty tight game on the whole, we managed to score a goal off a corner in the first half to give us a slender lead before scoring a couple of late-ish second half goals to give us a more comfortable finish to the game and take the fight out of Holroyd. Both teams had a few wasted chances in front of goal, a couple of one on ones stand out. Holroyd midfield sat really deep which gave yes plenty of space to use but they counter attacked quite well. The tightness of the game leaves me even more impressed with Winsto White's big win over them last week. Both teams with plenty of subs which was a nice change for us in recent times. Won't have that same luxury today against Pendo though with typical catchup game scheduling conflicts and a couple of minor injuries picked up yesterday.

Winsto Blk 3 Pendo 0 From my perspective you could not tell at all that Pendo had played the previous day. They looked fresh and quick all over the park and to say I felt jealous every time they called for a sub in the second half is an understatement. Pendo had much more ball and field position than we did but couldn't get past the last hurdle of putting the ball in the goal. We were pretty much just limited to kicking the ball forward to our striker who, luckily for us, showed his class on three occasions (1 in the first and 2 in the second). In the end I would say that was the difference between the two teams, just a bit more polish up front. Otherwise Pendo have a strong argument they were the better team yesterday. We played with 12 in the first then 10 and a half in the second and we were out on our feet pretty much. Still, enjoyed the game and very happy to come away with two wins and two clean sheets from the weekend.
Pendo 3 Greys 1 Pendo finally getting some luck in front of goal scoring 3 from about 40 attempts, Greys started with 9 before 5 more players turned up with the score still at 0-0, Greys scored from one penalty and missed another which would of made it 2-2. Fairly even game with Greys no 7 being awarded both soft penalties, went down with minimal contact and surprising only 1 yellow card in a fairly hard game with some interesting attempts at tackles and late contact on our keeper on 2 occasions.
Winsto Blk 3 Pendo 0 Thanks Winstbronx for the compliments, the boys will run all day but unfortunately you are spot on as they can't finish in front of goals, an enjoyable game which I would of preferred to have played this weekend so we may of at least had a ref, your bloke did well and as I explained to the boys the first goal may of been close for offside but too hard to call when you are on your own, also thank your boys for asking the ref to overturn the penalty he seemed to have awarded late in the game, just proves that sportsmanship is not dead. Thanks again and see you boys in a couple of weeks.

Winsto wht 4 or 5 vs pendo 0. Winsto were on top most of the game. Pendo finished strong but just couldn't put one away. Was a good hard game to play, although there were more drop balls than ive seen in a while.
Yes Bear, ref called a drop ball when there was contact between the players, I thought we must of been playing the wrong game. Winsto deserved winners, Pendo as per usual cannot find the back of the net.

Greystanes 1 Winsto Blk 1
Not a lot to talk about with regard to the game itself. Both teams hit the woodwork a couple of times and Stanes missed a sitter infront of an open goal. Wasn't our worst game but wasn't our best. Both teams with the bare 11.
What I am extremely disappointed with is the lack of organisation and presence from the Greystanes club. This game was at Bathurst Street, Greystanes main ground, and there was no ground official or club representation to be seen. Why was this an issue? The 21/2's were playing before us and were already running 20 minutes into our scheduled game time when a fight broke out within the Stanes team and their unofficial ref. Hilariously ONE of the reasons for the fight was because they felt the ref blew full time early. Either way this meant our game had to be shortened by 20 minutes and we were forced to play 35 minute halves which is a disgrace. If you're going to squeeze that many games into one day (our scheduled KO time was pushed back to 1:30pm earlier in the week so they could fit an extra game in) the least you could do is have someone there to make sure things are running close to on time, not to mention having a ground official might have helped break up the fight within their own team.
Hey Winstobronx, stated exactly the same thing when Pendo played there in round 6, game was almost 30 minutes late and we had the courtesy of a b&w come over and tell us, not that he would of thought to shorten the game as the 21/2's greys only had 8 players and score was already in double figures. I also said that this Greys team needed some support from the club as there are looked after by a young lady but I got shot down as some smart arse thought that all was well, again same crap, no support from the club.

Winsto blk vs wht. Not a bad game to play. Wht dominant for long periods but just couldn't get the breakthrough. 2 counter attacks saw the blks go 2 nil up into half time. 2nd half a little more even with end to end stuff. Whts got one back off a free kick only for the blks to again score off a counter attack.3 - 1 final score to blks. Always a good contest against these boys, hopefully we can get another crack at them this year.
Parra 2 up at half time with a scrappy goal to start which wasn't cleared followed by a penalty when the ball hit a players arm less than 2 metres away and was judged to have played at it, Pendo should have had a penalty also in the first half player tackled from behind yet again just can't get the calls our way. Pendo scored half way through second half and were unlucky not to equalise when ball hit inside of the post bounced down and out, no luck again for my boys and Parra short arse coach just a smart arse coach with no sportsmanship. Parra players despite being a good side just like to whinge and pregnant dog and take dives or stay down. Clearly rate the two Winsto teams above these guys as Parra spend too much time worrying about whinging to the ref despite getting some soft calls.

Winsto Blk 3 Winsto Wht 1
Not a lot to add to bears4life's report. Thought we played well defensively and for the most part limited the whites to long range shots, they couldn't get the ball to feet in the box and we were a little unlucky conceding from the free kick as it was an own goal with our defender wrong-footing our keeper with a header at the back post any striker would have been proud of. We counter-attacked well all game and made use of a little extra speed up front.
crt162 a shame you guys couldn't get a bit of the luck yesterday and take some points off Parra City, would have opened up a race for the minor prem. As it stands I think Parra City have it in the bag. The race for 3rd and 4th is well and truly on however, there's some big games the final three weeks.
Winstobronx heard all about Parra City having the minor prem wrapped up yesterday by the little dickhead, goand hod luck in the weeks ahead and hope to see you boys in the finals, hopefully winsto v winsto gf. As for my boys we will battle on and try and beat wenty this week and finish on a positive note.
