There was a 28-1 score line in an U14 game today, what sort of a boofhead coach would do that to another team, is he totally moronic, what does it prove and what does it do to the other lads. The coach should be given an enema using rusty barbed wire

.... In no way defending this idiot, but obviously has been incorrectly graded due to an admin error, or a trophy hunting lust. They won 14-0 last week, so it's pretty obvious someone has under-done their grading. Personally, I'd slam them into D1 next week and let nature take it's course. The team that took it 0-28 today should probably also go into the 4's next week too. I know the Association is not inclined to make too many re-grades, but Captain Obvious says re-grade them ! Deal with the logistic issues, wear the criticism and just do the right thing, Granville. Less clubs = less whingers against the re-grades. Here is our chance to show we are more in-tune with kids soccer than another association in say, Perth hills, that has their Premier club doing the same thing. . . what sort of boofhead would do that to another team ? Mate, it's beyond comprehension. To beat another team 17-0 is bad enough. This guy should have his coaching ticket revoked, and unless his club reprimands him, they should have to undergo a "how to be decent human beings" course. Rusty, or shiny, sharp and new ? Hmmm
still managed to get hills in. such a sad individual.
Faceless guest, Wow. I clearly said Perth hills. Don't tell me you are so petty and retentive to automatically think it was anything to do with any other city. How little and sad. Not everything in life is about the hills. Get over it. PS: I notice you had nothing to say about the Premier club in Perth hills also crunching other teams 17-0. And also that you are trolling forums from another association, to find people to call sad. Ironic, much ? And . . out of everything I typed, the only word you saw was "hills". Agenda, much ?
That's a whole lot of reasons to keep away from your mirror if you don't like "sad individuals".
Obviously some of these scorelines in both Associations are quite ridiculous & certainly a shame that it is happening. I would like to ask a question though & see what people think.
What is the coach of the better team to do?
Stop the match after the score reaches ?? This would have to be an Association rule Tell your players not to score. Tell your players that they have to do ?? amount of passes before they can shoot. The score would still blow out. Make them play one touch, two touch, three touch football. Take ?? amount of players off the field.
I am not sure that anything can be done to stop any embarrassment that may occur from all of these scenarios as certainly in the older age groups, the kids would know that the opposition were just taking the mickey.

Whist I don't agree with the score line I don't think it's the coaches fault. Unless there is some sort of hard and fast rule what is he supposed to do. He can't pull players off as he would have parents saying that's not fair because we my kid has paid his rego and he is here to play soccer. You really have to put yourself in the coaches position before ridiculing him. A regrading is probably the only option however this needs to be done immediately. I'm sure there can be some sort of formula for points etc that Granville can come up with that won't have a negative affect on all sides and grades in all age groups. This also isn't as easy as it all sounds . Perhaps other forum uses combined can have their say and help Granville with a solution that works.

Well in days gone by the association would look at things at the end of round 3. There is now ample evidence they need to do something this week, they have two weeks until the next round to reg ig some age groups and get cards printed

Well, when I've been faced with that situation, here's what I did ( with no orders from anyone else): At 5-o, the win is safe. Sub off your 2 best players. At 7 or 8, put all your subs on. At 9 or 10, put your backs at the front. At 12+. take off a player for each goal. When you have got 6 or 7 field players, it should sort itself out from there.
Of course, there is no hard and fast formula, and the above is just a gut feeling sort of thing.
Personally, there is no great joy in beating a team by 10+. Unless you have never done it before, or have no regard for the competition and dignity of your opponents. I don't see how a coach could feel proud that his team has flogged an obviously under-classed opponent . . . . but then again I don't see how people could bring themselves to do many things.

The absence of rego cards has a potential to bring another set of "what ifs" into play at this stage of the season as well. Not accusing anyone of anything, but players from a higher age/level could have taken the field and nobody would know. There was a set of results in the 21's that simply does not add up, and the absence of rego cards removes any hope of verifying anything. 2 weeks in and no cards, seriously ? This isn't 2003. We have the technology to print these things on demand. There should be no excuses , but there must be rego cards.
