Very competitive game. Pendo won first half and Ermo the second. Ermo have plenty of talent and play a good brand of football. The majority seem like nice guys. But they have a nasty element that complained and/or swore at the referee and young linesmen every time an offside, hand ball or foul went against them. The Ref could have sent off 3 or 4 of them for what they said to him. Maybe he kept his powder dry and let the Association know how they behaved after the game and that is the reason for the dispute. Ermo's angry manager needs to lose some weight put his boots on and do his talking on the field. Otherwise would someone in Ermo please tell him to shut the f9ck up.

Having played in the O45 comp last year, it sounds like the Ermo from last year. For memory they got rubbed out for 1 or 2 games for an abandonment. As you say, a team full of talent. Just no need to carry on like that in O45 park football. Perhaps an example needs to be made early in the season. Isn't it already hard enough to get refs?

Greys Blacks played Auburn today in a very good contest. Auburn scored early and showed some serious pace up front. This continued to unsettle the Greys defenders. Once the Greys found some rhythm they managed to peg back a few goals from crosses into the box. A third goal from the penalty spot saw Greys go to the break with a lead. Second half saw Greys score another although the fight was still in Auburn. They continued to press hard and were rewarded with a good goal. The last 10 mins seemed to favour Auburn as they got a glut of free kicks (deserved) and their midfield worked hard. Greys turned over some easy possession at times and made the game difficult for themselves. Good game with both teams working hard, plenty of feeling in the game without anything spiteful. Congrats to the ref who did a good job. Greys winners 4-2 but plenty to be encouraged about for Auburn. It looks like a tight comp at the top of the table with any team a chance to take the title this year.

Ermington 2 Holroyd Black 1
It was a tight contest today at George Kendall with the real Ermo turning up and playing some good football with no crap ,they led at halftime 1-0 courtesy of a somewhat lucky goal with a hopeful toe poke from 25 metres floating over our sprawling keeper hitting the crossbar then rebounding onto the prone keeper's head and rolling in! We equalised from a set piece midway through the second half and it looked like a draw was likely but 5 minutes from the end a cross from the right side was fumbled and ended up in the back of the net , in the last minute the Ermo keeper pulled off a great save with our striker away and one on one with him ,alas it was not to be
Wednesday update - just posting now as it's taken me two days to get over it...
Pendo scored a second to make it 2-1 over Greys Whites literally 60 secs before full time. It's a cruel game at times. Good hard game though, both teams really enjoyed it. We've advised Greys Blacks to give them plenty tomorrow...
Greys had another penalty chance wasted. Dave sacked going forward...
This game started with a bang maybe the fastest goal in O/45's history , the referee blows the whistle to start our striker noticing the keeper not paying attention puts it the back of the net around 3 seconds , 15 minutes later after a penalty and a great strike he had a hat trick! The Whites scored off a set piece but 2 more good goals and we were cruising 5-1 at halftime. The second half was fairly even for the first 20 minutes but the Whites started dominating and came up with 2 goals to make the last 10 minutes interesting we hung on and should have scored again from a couple of breakaways. Well done to Greystanes they fought hard till the end.
Pendle Hill and Greystanes Black had an enjoyable afternoon at Binalong on Saturday. You have to feel for Pendo as they battled very hard with the bare eleven. At this age its a tough thing to do. They were gallant in defeat with Greys winning 3-0. The first goal was a dubious penalty to say the least. The other two goals were very well taken strikes. Both teams battled hard and the game was played in good spirits without any drama. Ref did a good job. Pendo needs some troops ASAP.

Lidcombe vs Greystanes Black saw a game of two completely different halves. First half Greys all over Lidcombe and managed to get away a goal. Keeper made some pretty good saves and the defence scrabbled well to keep the score 1-0 at the break. Looks like the peptides kicked in for Lidcombe and Greystanes should not have had three beers and a durry each at half time as the second stanza was heavily weighted to Lidcombe. In the end Greystanes hung on and got home 1-0. Onwards and upwards for both teams next week.

Pendle Hill 0 Holroyd Black 1
Good competitive game today at Binalong Rd, with both teams scrapping hard the Green Machine had the better chances in the first half but Pendo kept it to 0-0 at halftime. That trend continued in the second half and a draw was a distinct possibility but 20 minutes from full time a corner was converted after a scramble in the six yard box. Well done Pendle Hill on a good clean game in which your hard work nearly paid off.

Holroyd Black 0 Holroyd White 3
It was a fairly physical derby at Guildford West Sportsground this afternoon, the first half we started well but the Whites came back into it later in the half which ended at 0-0. The Whites dominated the second half and with some key personal off injured for us the Whites took their chances ,to the big mouth on the Whites bench I tried to keep the words small so you would understand them!

Tough tough day in the office for Wenty vs Greystanes black. At this age you need more than 11 fit players. Wenty started with the bare 11 and then lost one player for a portion of the first half. Its just too much to ask of anyone. Greys picked up momentum and scored a few goals and by half time the contest was over. The second half Wenty tried but there was little gas left in the tank to cause too many problems. Greys had only 12 players and lost one to a calf injury (said player finish the game in goals.) Greys welcomed back an old stalwart who has been incapacitated for the past 18 months, great to see him back on the pitch today! Greys finished 6-0 winners, with one particular player coping a severe ribbing from his team mates for missing a yawning goal with the ball perfectly placed right at his feet. A bit of niggle in the game but ref handled everything pretty well.
