Was Greystanes aa1 vs pendo 21-1's. Greystanes played last 20 with 10. was good to have a run as it's been 7 weeks between training sessions and games. Game was played in good spirits with a lot of the boys knowing each other.

Sydney Dragons 5 -2 over Rydalmere at Webbs Ave Wednesday 19th. Lidcombe Waratah played Newington at Coleman Tuesday 18th. Cumberland council managed to switch off the lights 20 mins into the second half. LW up 4-1 when the shroud of darkness descended upon us. The final 25 mins will be replayed soon.
Pendo AAM team beat Granville Waratah on Tuesday night 5-0 . GW team was the Youth side and played well for the first half making the PH boys chase shadows. Class showed out in the end. Fishing maybe you need to ask the Lidcombe lights guru to add an extra hour when he turns the lights on? Council doesn't turn them off

Hey klopp, apparently because the 10pm turn-off time is outside the normal hours that LW use the lights for week to week, council had to make a specific thing of having the lights available to us outside the normal hours. The extended hours were booked, but the sound of the lights disappearing is still fresh in my mind. That's what I was told by our guru. Maybe he tells me lies. 5 goals in one half. Nice. At least you had shadows to chase . . . .

That's a great result BJ . . . . especially after conceding so early. Well done to you and the boys. We had drawn a Cottam Cup game Wednesday night, our usual Saturday game, then a State Cup game Sunday. I didn't particularly like 3 games in essentially 4 days, so we asked for some consideration towards changing the Cottam cup game ( seeing that it's all over the shop anyway ). Our association, in it's infinite wisdom, changed our Wednesday game to the following Tuesday. So it changed SFA . . . . made it a day closer together, actually. After putting up with the creative player influx at the resumption of our first game, then this scheduling mess, I couldn't be bothered. The first game I've forfeited in 10 yrs of coaching. Good luck in the rest of the tourny.
afishinmission I sympathise with your forfeiting - I understand where you are coming from. As far as our game against Roselands (who I was told later were a Premier League side), they were very good and very physical, however my boys wore them down to go up 3-1 with 8 minutes to go and they scored a lucky goal direct from the restart. The experience of playing such teams in the Cottam Cup has definitely matured our boys and the quality of their football has improved every match. We have now outclassed 2 x AAM1 teams (including our own in a friendly) and a Premier League side. As a result I have decided to have a weeks RnR in QLD next month, naturally after we play you! Pendo AAM1 beat Sydney Dragons last night - I think it was 3-1 but don't quote me on that.
Quarter finals Pendle Hill B went down 1-2 to Amity in extra time. The boys played well against a very experienced AAM side, but being a Tuesday night when no subs were available it was always going to be a tough ask.
Had the displeasure of watching Merrylands & The Ponds play last night. Ponds won 2-1 and were the better team creating more chances. Merrylands look like they are the F2 freestylers and refuse to pass the ball. Only hope up field was the long ball over the top that Ponds had sorted out all night Merrylands had 1 player sent off for dissent late in the game and probably lucky the Coach didn't go as well. His ranting from the sideline was relentless at his own players and the officials. Carried on like a child after the game as well.
A real shame that a match that should showcase Granvilles best had to finish that way. The Ponds supporters certainly commented on the poor behavior.
