Walked over Rydalmere today, all pitches playable, Gladesville comp played all there matches this weekend, with a break this weekend you would of thought Granville and the council come up with a compromise to play, seeing that the fields will have a two week break, what happens if there is rain after Easter and they close the fields, no football in April. Council should have opened the grounds this week and give the chance to the clubs to get the grounds fit to play, if not at least they had the chance. #commonsense

Without defending Councils . . . . The issues start with cricket pitches. Any ground with a cricket pitch couldn't get the turf to cover it coz the turf farms were too wet for their machinery to lift the turf. Which brings us to the long grass on the fields. Too wet to get the tractor on it to mow, mark the lines, put up the goal posts and cover the cricket pitches when they did get the turf. Long grass retains the ground water better, so begin the argument again. But yeah, sure as heck over the weekends without games !!
