Greystanes 1 vs Rydalmere 3.
A day to forget for our boys! Came out firing in the first 20 minutes creating plenty but could not capitalise. Rydalmere got a goal and deflated us. Score was 1-1 before Rydalmere got a couple of goals and went on with it.
Tough day at the office. We move on to Holroyd next week.
Holroyd once again struggled with numbers starting the game with 10 men and conceding early. Holroyd hit back to make it 1 all and missed a heap of chances... Greystanes made their opportunities count and scored another 2 goals before the break to go in 3-1 at half time.
Second half was totally different with Holroyd controlling possession for good periods and the chances were converted with 4 second half goals, one of which was a spectacular volley!
Holroyd 1 vs Rydalmere 1 Frustrating game for Holroyd after dominating possession and not converting many chances. It took until the 35th minute to get a goal up and go into the half 1 nil up. Second half was much of the same with wasted opportunities on a very cold day. Rydalmere got a goal back to level after a goal keeping error. Game ended in a draw
Very evenly contested match with holroyd missing a few opportunities to go ahead in the first half. Parramatta also missed a few opportunities in the second half including a penalty that the Holroyd keeper saved.
Both teams easily could have snatched a win but a draw seemed to be a fair result in the end.

Holroyd once again struggling with player numbers with many missing but still dominating possession in the first half with a heap of missed opportunities. Granville also wasted a few counter chances with shots missing the target. 2nd half began the same way the 1st half ended with Holroyd controlling possession until a great individual effort from Granville where a player beat 3 and slotted the ball into the left bottom corner to give Granville the lead. The Granville team lifted after the goal and began pressing and controlling the run of play. It wasn’t looking good for Holroyd until the Rangers midfielder landed an absolutely cracking goal from well outside the box to make it 1-1. The goal seemed to bring holroyd back into the game and they took control once again. A few of the Granville players became frustrated with one earning a straight red card with 10 to go. Holroyd were unlucky not to take the lead hitting the crossbar with the game finishing 1-1.
Unfortunately an ugly after game incident involving the sent off player assualting the referee soured an otherwise well fought out contest.
Senior What a disgraceful act. Lets see what action GDSFA and Refs Assoc take against Granvile Kewpies. If Refs decide not to appoint officials to their game then it could be all over for them. Granville Kewpies are also representing GDSFA in the Cottam Cup final.??
