the chance of anyone playing park football making an elite squad are less than zero . The people who choose those squads look at the colour of the socks before the quality of the player .
Not sure that I quite agree with you dribbler. I know of at least 2 lads that played Div 1 this season that were selected in the recently picked U/12 Met West squad. I would call that a reasonably elite squad.
As for NSW putting their trials on at the same time that CoC's are on, that seems quite daft!!
must've been a different metwest trial to the ones I've been to where the side was picked before it started .... I mean the lads who knew the selector by the first name played on one field and were selected and the others who failed the 'know the selector test' , played on another field and were eventually told , "thanks for coming , better luck next time" ... lol .
But it's not just metwest , it's at all levels .
Look I understand to a certain extent why they do it that way because watching a bunch of girls/boys running around with bibs on and making objective decisions is like trying to juggle 2 cats and a chainsaw .
as for P22 , the objective is fine . Whether the end result will be the same only time will tell , I guess . I can't help being cynical about "free" things .
I'll leave it at that as this is drifting off topic , but if you want to read more rants (not by me ;D) about the same topic then the nswyouthfootball proboards forum might be a place to start .
