interesting piece over on the world game website by les murray (http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/les-murray/blog/1017437/One-coach,-one-direction - down the bottom of the article), on ex-socceroos being denied a chance to play in "essentially little more than a park kick-about". reading between the lines, i'm guessing macquarie (or was it west ryde?) aren't looking so certain over in gladesville-hornsby so they've tried to re-sign frani and paolo for a late season tilt (though i haven't looked at any tables over there to confirm this). having played a game with 9 players because of the same deadline and seen kellyville stripped of a win for having a division 3 player on the card after the same deadline, i have to say i'm quite glad football nsw have been consistent, even for our comps which obviously mean very little to les.
Archer - just checked the Gladesville comp (after aj's post above). Doesn't seem that comp is any stronger than ours anymore. Epping Eastwood have won it by 13 points without losing a game. They always challenge but rarely win it by that much and in fact didn't last season. The rest of the table looks pretty even. Over at Kuringai, things look more even but West Pymble have won it there quite comfortably. Don't think our comp is actually that bad. If Stanes had made a better start it could have been more interesting. And Dunnies always make it tough (for us anyway).

I can't quote any policies or anything and nor am I going to look for one but I did hear this was possible. I can recall in the gladesville hornsby comp a couple of years ago that they actually had trials to see who would form their 45s team (I suppose they didn't have a 45s comp operating at that time) to see who would represent GH....so if you could do that, you would think you would be able to borrow players.

Well don't quote me and always confirm first...
If you had a few players out due to injuries and you had 2 comp games left...I am wondering if including a few players from the whites on the team sheet (Not sure if they actually have to take the field) may be enough. In case of emergency break glass.
Of course we respect your opinion no matter how stupid it is!

chu 3 stanes 0. game was just a barrier trial so meant nothing but was fun anyway and 1st up from a spell we went ok. think stanes had a few nigglies so thanks for playing. that field is horrible. fireworks started after game watching senior 1s and as pooies took lead, proverbial hit fan and before you know it 14 cops at bathurst st. i was sneaking down the back cause i had a quietie in my hand but i could of sworn i saw a player (not stanes) toss a bottle which tonked his own clubman on the noggin and put him down! mad stuff.
anyway our whites won but i hear dunnies did too so its us v the villians and stanes v dunnies. nothing certain here!
referring back to the sbs post was a team called stanmore hawks who in fact are the basis of the west ryde boys who lost to chu in c of c final, then defected to marrickville for a year and now play out of stanmore. They approached the association for a late rego in none other than paul okon which was knocked back as would any rego after the cut off date regardless of their stature in the game. It is quite funny reading an article about the night epping eastwood gave them atouch up in the grandfinal a couple of years back that it was meant to be his last game, looks like he may have some extra time now he don't have a coaching gig.
Red, The ghfa comp is still very strong, not quite to the extent when west ryde were playing but there are 5-6 teams which on their day and fully fit would beat any side in the most comps. the final over there this year will be between the third placed all saints(who are c of c champs) and fourth placed pennant hills who only lost one game all second round albeit to epping.
Oko - I was in Nowra on Saturday with my son for his game but reports from some of our guys was that the referee who did our game was quite good. He didn't take any rubbish from the other team and allowed our boys to play the game. Thanks
Well guys, it has been an interesting season... We have finished equal 4th but gone out on goal difference... With so many what if's - it is the season of missed opportunity... Not looking for excuses but injuries in the middle of season left us playing some games with 7 players (at least we didn't forfeit) - who knows what would have happened if had managed to keep 11 on the park... Good luck to those in the semi's...
it all evens out, redcard. greystanes didn't have a full squad registered until round 4, by which time we'd lost our opening 3 games and conceded 14 goals (just on half the goals we conceded all season). and kellyville handing out bonus points in their midweek games (3 to you, 1 to us) made things interesting as well.
i also watched the bizarre incidents that led to (and followed) the abandonment of the match on bathurst st 1 following the conclusion to our game, flaminghands, though i left just after the water-bottle-into-the-back-of-the-head-of-his-own-coach incident and so missed the arrival of the cops! in contrast to that context, i'd have to say that i've enjoyed my first season of 035s immensely. after two knee reconstructions i was a bit nervous about playing again but have been able to play without once fearing being hacked, let alone having to deal with the type of crap that went on in that game.
It does even itself out - as I stated, not looking for excuses but we won 2 of our first 3 with a draw against Dunnies... We copped 5 injuries in the 4th round game to Guildford and culminated with 7 from 8 losses except a forfeit received from Winsto and a gift from the Ville...
we had 3 good close games against stanes with a 2-0 w, 2-1 l, and a 0-0 draw... It has been fun and for most part, I agree the football has been good clean fun...
