Watched the game today on a pitch that resembled parramatta road, it was a good effort by CH who dominated the game. Kellyville brought out 2 fantastic saves from flaming and tried until the end but CH were just to good. From the sideline it looked like the game was played in good spirits with only about 10 free kicks blown in the entire game by a very good referee.
It looked like both teams were struggling with injuries and i think the physio bill will be sky high this week.
a pitch that resembled parramatta rd? imagine parramatta rd with 20cm wide lines of sand dug into it every 5 metres in both directions making a grid over the whole parramatta rd - welcome to binnalong no. 3!
players carrying injuries a feature of the dundas-greystanes game as well

Injury wise, the mighty chu are as good as can possibly be expected. Obviously the ville have injury problems and perhaps if the week before is any indication, stanes may too. The final may be about who can get 11 on the field.
Look forward to the watching the final...(unless the 'golden rose' call goes up...anyone?)

Well nothing too unexpected last weekend, although the Ville licking their wounds after a bit of a flogging and looking for another crack at the machine no doubt. Anyway before we go there what a big weekend ahead, the mighty stanes get another crack at the Ville (or is it the Ville having another crack at stanes ). I think this is going to be a cracker and i hope injuries don't overshadow what could be a very exciting game.
Can someone confirm where the GF is being played at and Sticks although it's a little early to say but what are the machine upto next year surely you're not going to go around again and have everyother weekend off!!!

bigcheese, I have heard that parra stadium is gone so it wont be there. I understand that Melita is available but of course, there is no certainty that 35s would be allocated a spot there. Could it be back to garside? ...a scene of a former triumph. Anyway, garside couldnt have less grass than saturday's field....nor be as hard.
I had to laugh...apparently we had a free kick and one of our players put the ball on the last remaining bit of grass and said as much. A KV player apparently picked the ball up, scuffed the last leaf and said not anymore!!
Speaking of grass, did anyone notice that lush ponderosa going unused diagonally opposite our field.
Next year hey. a long way off. I would be surprised if the team existed in the same format....but then that talk gets thrown around a lot...not just from us.
Personally I would like to just have a runaround in 45s and will make a few enquiries in that regard. Perhaps a team to play just before the 35s (what ever it may look like) to keep the social side of things going would be nice.
a few weeks back greystanes played out a fairly uneventful 0-0 draw with chu whites. greystanes had their minds elsewhere as we thought we already had a spot in the semis sewn up (we weren't aware of the kellyville forfeit at the time) and, more importantly, there was a camera crew there to distract us. the show on one hd, football stars of tomorrow, came down to film as part of a special they were doing on the club's 40th anniversary. the rest of the footage was filmed at the official dinner later that evening.
not sure how much footage of the game will make it to air, but anyone near a tv at 6:30 tomorrow (wednesday) night (there's a few repeats later in the week as well) can tune in to one hd to try and catch a glimpse of greystanes vs chu white over 35s going out on national television.

Perhaps they will show the offside goal?
Just found the forum and thought I'd add some comments for the season...
Well done to Dundas and Greystanes... you narrowly shaded us (i'm CH WHT) for spots in the top four and well deserved... at the end of the season you got more points (or conceded less goals) than us so were there on merit...If we had have made it it would have been thanks to 3 pts in the Kellyville forfeit... we also had the favourable draw which nobody has mentioned thus far. Would have been nice to have had the chance to play Dundas in the rained out round though!!! All 3 teams were fairly closely matched and all had injury issues throughout the year.
Forfeits were a problem though and had bearings on the table...can't help feeling there should be a greater penalty than a 3-0 loss - maybe a 1 point penalty..?? Some quick maths tells me that if we had forfeited both games against BLK our goal diff for the season would have been 7 better off.... and guess how many goals we missed out on..
If both teams are at full strength (by the sound of it though they aren't) for this weekend it should be a very close game. Hard to call but momentum looks to be in Greystanes favour, so I'm picking a 1-0 win, maybe going to extra time...!!
All in all though an enjoyable season with most games played in pretty good spirits. Looks like Baulko and another K Ville team to come up next year... Would love to see a 10 team comp though - 8 teams too few and leads to lob-sided draws...

I agree a comp with 10 teams is a must and it could happen next year with some luck. This year was better alround, no doubt the green machine stood out again but the next 4 teams were a little closer than the leagues results shows. The Ville team that should come up will hold their own and maybe just maybe we could have a comp that isn't totally dominanted by two teams and that makes it a little bit more exciting for at least 4-6 teams, which should lead to less forfeits!! (i also agree a forfeit should have some kind of real forfeit other than a three nil loss).

the mighty stanes are one week away from winning the grand final after beating kellyville 1-0 in today's semi. Bring on the chu lads
Well done to greystanes on getting to grand final, good bunch lads and all the kellyville boys wish them well for next week.
Was a good game with kellyville on top for probably 70% of game but just couldnt score, hit the woodwork 3 times and there keeper had a blinder again saving numerous chances, stanes dug in second half and road there luck big time,in the end though they held out and deserve there chance in final, the game was played in good spirit to say it was a semi final, some hard challenges going in but everyone getting up and getting on with game, will be a tough ask to beat c.hill but i am sure they will give it a good shot, well organized and if they can nick a early goal they could hang on and defend it
