I coach an Under 10's team for an 8-30am kick off and my massive plans at Star City have crashed to earth...i do have this rain going for me however, the way it's dumping down today and the way many grounds around me look, next week would need no rain for the weekend to go ahead. (Knowing my luck I wouldn't find out until 7am on the Monday morning!) Go the Socceroos!!
I thought the Monday was for catch up games of partial washouts. With the spare weekend in July for full round replays.....after that round washouts came off the back end of the comp...i.e. round 18 first would dissapear, then 17 etc. Just thought thats what was decided on and the reason for so many 8 team comps
whoda, Are you talking about Under 9s not playing?
outwide, I dont know what was decided but what you say is more practical. With rain forecast up till and including next Wednesday, i think scheduling two full rounds of ladies and mixed games over Saturday Sunday and Monday will leave grounds in a state that prompts ground closures and any drop of rain in future rounds.
As far as I know the association aimed for 10 team comps where possible.
i am another that isnt happy with the planning of the monday game as afew of us from our team have planned to go into star city to watch the mighty socceroos play and wont be in any shape to play during the day,
i can see granville getting alot of complaints about this
That's just awesome. What retard thought people won't want to get away for a long weekend ?
Up until about early 2000`s there were always double headers over June long weekend..........motion to have this year Monday June 14 as a designated wet weather catch up passed by Granville after being voted on by the CLUBS.
Not sure but think only reason we stopped playing double headers sat/mon was councils had monday`s as there designated watering day.
No need to panic as any more rain and next week could be gone as well
Double header good for you as your coach will be impressed with your supreme fitness........ :)and you will be starting 11 for the rest of the year.
What a great idea to play the catch up on monday. If people are going away the teams can deal with it, no different to any other game in the season. We had players go away due to work and holidays not so long ago and we had to play depleted.
If we didnt have catch up games there would be even more complaints, so the assoc cant win. Fat boy the retards that voted the catch up game run your club and everyone elss club as they voted it in. the majority want to play the catch up, get over it.
