It is with great sadness to report the passing of FNSW Competitions Administrator Larry Grant. He passed away yesterday at age 61. Larry was in charge of competitions for the amateur side of the game and had been in this position for a number of years. A tireless worker & straight shooter, he gave his all for this great game and for the wider football community. FNSW website has more on this story.
Our deepest condolences go out to his family at this time.

Lazza was a legend of the game and his heart was big for grassroots football. I met Larry at his house some ten years ago and have kept contact with him up until his passing. The game has lost a vital grassroots link due to his passing.
While sitting in Lazza's lounge room he asked me should he take the position being offered him at FNSW. I stared the big fella in the eye and said Larry there is no-one better than you to do that job. Take it! If ever that job needed a straight shooting guy with the balls to sort out that mess your that man. Occassionally during our email exchanges Larry was most pleased his work was "Making a difference" for grassroots. Larry was indeed making a difference alright and grassroots was all the better for it.
Can't speak highly enough of the man. Sad day when he passed away but I guess the football administration in heaven was in turmoil and there was only one man good enough in heaven and earth to sort it out. Big Lazza!
They don't make men like Larry anymore that have a golden heart that pumps firmly for Grassroots Football.
Vale Larry Grant. A true friend and great man to all who knew him.
