haha! is this the same chameleon who recently wrote on the div 2 forum, and i quote...
"Div 1 might be a struggle unless we recruit and there are some forced retirements. Not everyone is keen on the step up,so i think it will sort itself out."
if nothing else, it would brighten up the div 1 forum which has been a bit quiet this season.
as to saturday's predictions, there hasn't been more than two goals between dundas and greystanes in any game over the last two seasons. recent results would indicate that dundas, once their position in the top 4 was sealed, have been resting their injuries before the semis and are likely to come out on saturday fairly refreshed. greystanes would certainly be unwise to write them off as easily as you have, rightside!
Look at all the teams fighting to join the div 1 ranks. dont fight to hard boys with the chutars moving on to take on the big boys in 45s 35/1 will be a 10 team comp next year with the top 5 from div 2 moving up. Apparentltly for the 45s they have signed Wade,Gomez,Tobin,Sticks plus a few old farts from Blacktown city. Should be interesting year for the 45s to say the least.
Sorry to rain on everyones parade but the Chutahs will still have a 35s next year as well as a 45s team and we think we can win division one titles from the 10s right through to the 45s. Really can't see why not.Humility is our strength.
Considering your talent pool you would be expected to perform better as a club. The one thing your missing is "ticker". The only tough thing to come out of Castle hill is sandstone. "Stick and stones," is what you got plenty off.
huh? i'm lost. isn't this the 35/1 forum? how did paul wade become part of the action?
and do you really have to play 3 games to be eligible for semis, or just have your name on the team sheet 3 times? and is there actually any difference in reality - who's to know they haven't actually played? is that how i got to mark renault in last year's grand final? and who are lidcome waratahs?
harry gwopler! we've missed your inanities around these parts. have you met chameleon yet?
was one of the toughest games of the season for mine on field number 1. i'm glad we were able to get the winner in the last minute but, if it was a regular season game, you'd have to say a draw would have been the fairest result. both dundas and greystanes dominated patches, but neither was ever able to take complete control. both had a few half chances but everything was tight for the duration until the last minute shot took a deflection to wrong foot dundas' 'keeper. in spite of the bizarre number of yellow cards, the game was played in excellent spirits and right now, i'm completely exhausted.
your name says everything, i'm sure all the boys in div 1 would be happy to take your team on, and for no ticker lol u obviously have no idea about their team. Well sandstone out of Castle Hill and kebabs out of Lidcome , so be it ! maybe they can combine and run a new version of landscape and food.Jamie Durie eat your heart out.
as with last year's final between the same two clubs, this year's final was a tight affair which either team could have won. greystanes maybe just shaded the first half and went to the break 1-0 up - maxgp is being a bit disengenious, only commenting on the golden goal and inferring its scrappiness meant the win was undeserved - he makes no mention of greystanes' first half goal. i'd be keen to hear his description of it.
kellyville were definitely the stronger team in the second half but didn't create too many chances. in the end their equaliser came from the penalty spot. was certainly a hand ball, but the referee's very erratic hand ball calls both ways throughout the game left a few heads being scratched on this one. a one on one effort might have won it for kellyville 10 from time, but the 'staynes 'keeper came out on top in that one.
extra time was over almost before it started. a half chance to kellyville ended with a soft shot easily held. then, a couple of minutes later, greystanes broke and a cross was delivered to just inside the area. a greystanes attacker, a kellyville defender and the kellyville 'keeper all went for the ball, with the greystanes attacker getting his foot in just before the other two. the three then collided while the ball rolled gently into the open goal. game over.
Congrats to the Stanes boys on reaching another 35/1's GF - the first goal to Greystanes was an absolute cracker ! I left at halftime but glad to hear the boys got home in extra time. Good luck next week !
Ajebec - First goal to Stanes was a cracker (probably will never do that in his life again but lucky for him it was in front of a crowd). KV then took the game and dominated possession but didn't make any headway in the front third until the penalty leveled the game.
The erratic calls came from the loudest appeal - I would of thought that the official was hard of hearing so each team had to yell loud for him to give the free kicks.
The blunder, IMHO was when the KV striker was put one on one and scored only to be called back by the referee for offside - even though he had his back to his assistant and there was a Stanes defender behind him - maybe next time he should turn around before making a call like that.
In the end the Stanes floated ball into the area was poorly dealt with by the defence (seemed to be a lack of communication and no conviction for getting the ball first) which the Stanes boy did stretch to get a foot on and deservedly, the ball went in for him.
Where will next weeks game be played (if at all if you go by the weather reports this morning)?
