freame gets used by the churches comp every weekend. there's a bunch of junior teams in the club that uses it that don't have a comp in the junior churches thing, so they play in granville districts, which is, i assume, why granville has access to it. so it won't be in any better condition than any other field.

oh well chameleon, I was hoping your comments may have livened up things in GF week but no luck. Maybe we need to invite the todger in here. Good luck to all....Mighty CHU 3 - Stanes 1. Sad day when harry gwopler left the scene.
He won't be back until he moves across to Lidcombe next year.
I love watching "prancing horses" and as for the long ball - it would be great to see someone play it. Haven't seen it all year - then again I haven't had the chance to watch the Div 2 comp either...!!!
a game that went pretty much to the form book, though there were a few nervous flutters in the castle hill camp during the second half. greystanes knew their only chance was to remain well organised and not give away many chances then, when they did get some possession, hope to catch the chutas on the break. chutas absolutely dominated the first half in terms of possession and their one-two passing was mesmerising from the point of view of someone running in circles trying to keep up! whenever greystanes did get possession they were either quickly snuffed out by the hungry chutas or gave away possession cheaply. an early goal came direct from a pinpoint free kick from one of the socceroo contingent. however, greystanes did remain reasonably composed in the back third with no real saves being asked of their 'keeper in general play.
the second half was a much more open affair, and both 'keepers were called on to make outstanding saves. chutas still had the better of it, but greystanes caused more problems as they managed to pass better once they got possession and were able to make use of some of their speed up front. a second chutas goal, this time from a well directed header, finally killed off greystanes' chances, though both teams played intensely until the final whistle. in the end, the step up in player for player class between the two teams was clearly the telling factor.
thanks to all for another excellent season and here's to a 10 team comp next season. good luck to the chutas in the upcoming champion of champions. for now, i'm off to wenty leagues to celebrate the season, if not the grand final, with the rest of the greystanes boys.

An excellent report ajebec as they have been all year. Whilst chu deserving winners there was a goal mouth scramble in the 2nd half that may have resulted in a stanes goal and chu have experienced what happens when stanes get a sniff!
Anyway onto the cofc and it is no easy road for the Granville teams with Sutherland, gladesville then kuringai....tough ask.

At least it wasn't 5-1 like last year. Greys must be getting better.
You should have pm'ed me and I could have given you all the tips to knock over the CHU lads. Little things like bribing the fatman with 6 pies at half time and playing 2GB races loud on a radio before the match would have had half the CHU side running to the TAB leaving them to kick off with only 7 men.
Never mind there is always next year
Of course we respect your opinion no matter how stupid it is!
Stanley, Issues of such a sensitive nature could only ever be discussed with a fellow Chutah and as much as it eats you alive with envy you dont fit the criteria. You fail miserably in that you have to have been involved in more than one first division Grand Final in thirty years as a player or a coach. Is it true that your players refer to you as mini-bus.Just half a coach?
Congrats to the Stanes for a mighty effort on Saturday. You guys send a clear message to all O/35 teams that courage and commitment and mateship rule the roost. You may have unlocked the secret to the Chutah success. Now you just have to sign the Chutah Recruitment Officer. Good luck to the lads in the C of C.I wish we were as certain of success as everyone else seems to think we are.
