Though you may be interested in a referee's point of view here. if i referee a game: It is ok to not agree with my decision but it is not ok to not accept my decision. it is ok to state that i made mistakes in a calm tone (perhaps can even get away with saying i made appalling mistakes) but it is not ok and it is disrespectful to say that i was appalling no matter what the tone.
A very scrappy win where the boys passing game was nowhere near what they can achieve. Well done to Merrylands in pushing us all the way. Back for last home game tomorrow to finish off our regular season. Dissappointing that we have only had 3 home games at Second Ponds this season- hopefully Granville will rectify that next year as the boys are excited to play where they train.
Yeah Merry you pushed us all the way esp the last 5 mins- I was happy when the ref blew her whistle. We will really have to lift from here on which the boys certainly can do but we are all looking fwd to the semis though.
Hope to see you guys next season unless you come down to the games next weekend.

Merry it was a great game today your boys made it very hard for us. Although our boys didn't play their usual game of passing. The Brumbies were pushed due to the desperation of your boys today. Well done on your season and hope to see you next year. Keep them boys together as they will be a much better team from their experience from this year. It has been a pleasure to compete against Merrylands this season.

SMK 0 - Ch Blk 2
A team we had beaten previously and drawn got the better of us today. An unfortunate first goal while trying to clear the goal area struck another of our players and Ch Blk scored. Second goal was a penalty.
The boys played well, though we missed an official ref. to run the game. Not complaining but thats the way the game goes.
Last game of the regular season saw only our third proper home game so the boys were really pumped knowing nothing less than a win would see us finish second and two chances in the semis. After yesterday's scrappy performance the team really turned it on and played one of their best games of the season. Everything we had been working on the boys tried and most times worked which was great for all of us to see. What a great final series we should have.
Well done SMK on a fine 1st year in Div 1! - You can hold your heads high, unfortunately we needed 2 wins this weekend to clinch a finals spot. The seasons draw didn't make life easy having to play the top 3 sides 3 times. Having the final 2 games played away without B&W's available, brought many home town decisions, particularly on Saturday. Saturdays loss took SMK out of the play-offs and Sunday was funday against the Brumbies, the regular GK played out on the field, backs played up front and vice-versa to let the team enjoy their final game as a unit. Congrats to the boys, parents and coaching team through a rollercoaster year the team has stuck solid and are prepared to be a competitive force in 2012. Well done to BH on going through the season undefeated
Very true about the draw in that it will never be fair when you play some teams more than others but nobody really knows who are the strongest teams eg Brumbies being a new team to this age group. For the players development though I would prefer to play the strongest teams to test the players under pressure. I didnt realise you had a regular GK as last game you had different ones in each half- I thought this one did well then. As for no official refs....well I think you know why that is so you shouldnt complain.
Anyway congrats for your first season in div 1 St Micks, you did do well and all the best for next season. Also was a great effort for Baulko to go through undefeated.
Hillside - SMK have had a regular keeper all season, no half time changes. The last game v Brumbies was the only time he was on the field for the game & a player who had played in the field all season played GK for the entire game. As per Lefties comment ...you're out of line regarding your comment regarding ref's. Our timeslot was difficult to find sufficient ref's throughout the season, mainly because most ref's were preparing for their own games. All the best for the finals, BH & Brumbies were by far the most skillful and drilled teams we played - we look forward to a new challenge in 2012
Merry & all - To clear it up SMK had games prior to the BH incident without B&W's and games since with B&W's. This includes games immediately after the BH game. It was good to see ML & SMK were more than competitive in their 1st year in div 1 & look forward to a new start in 2012.
Brumbies 3 Baulko 0 Well done to the young Brumbies as they certainly played well today to beat the previously unbeaten Baulko. A week off now so I will be a bit lost. Well done Baulko as you played in great spirit and after the game all the boys and coaching staff were verygood. I hope you guys bounce back next week. Also well done to the young ref.
