Merry, mate there is some bad flu around, or even the amount of catchups kids are playing is leading to more injuries as yes you are correct Id say that last weekend had more forfeits than any other weekend in recent memory and that includes school holidays which typically sees teams playing short. I went to games on Saturday and Sunday after the team I was playing forfeited and have never seen so many teams playing short.
Wild Horse - Agreed the 2 K'ville coaches are chalk n cheese. The White coach appears to be a decent guy coaching in the right spirit of the game, it's a pity his boys haven't done better. It just doesn't have a good look when the forfeit is with a fellow club team who need the win and GD points.
Merry - agreed not a good look, particularly this close to finals in a tight battle for positions. Would be good to hear from someone from K'ville. Anyone heard if Round 15 is officially cancelled or can it still be played?
Talk about cynical, you blokes are incredible. One team didnt have enough players available so they forfeited - so what, it happened in over 50 games on the weekend.
Lets suppose that the whites did play with 7 players and got pumped by 15 you'd be complaining they layed down to benefit the other teams goal difference. If you have to leave your fate in the hands of other results you havent done enough by yourselves.
Wouldnt have heard a peep if the Blacks forfeited.
Well the season is coming to a very exciting conclusion. At the moment there is only Baulko safe with 5 teams fighting for the other 3 positions. With only 6 points separating them and a possible 9 points available, anything is possible. It will be difficult for St Micks and Merrylands as they have some tough matches but they have both played good football this season and who knows what may happen- look what happened with KV white beating CHU Black last week. Its a shame round 15 is not being played as those 3 points may have made a difference. Good luck to all teams this weekend, may you all play good football, the boys enjoy themselves and we have official refs.
Big game tomorrow for Brumbies and St Micks, brumbies looking to consolidate second place on the table while St Micks will be fighting for a position in the top four. Should be a great game, hope both teams come out firing and put on a good display of fast paced football. Fire'em up Hillside1.
Yeah what a game, congrats to St Micks the boys pushed hard all game. Brumbies a little slow to the ball sometimes which cost them possession at times. Referee was appalling for both teams, calling things that didn't exist and then letting dirty play go which should have called. To top it off an absolute howler to totally screw the Brumbies out of a 2-1 win. He was the only one who didn't see it go in.

swings and roundabouts we had a similar goal not awarded to us against Baulko by an official ref. same side of the goal as today. frankly, from where i was standing didn't see it go in. maybe we need video refs , as for dirty play both teams should watch the tackles. we don't want to see any kids get hurt.
Lefti Correct on both teams need to clean it up a bit, wasn't indicating it was one sided but swings and round abouts my back side. The ref for the following game saw it go in the Granville official sitting on the log saw it go in and even your goal keeper said to the ref it went in. So unless you were at the rugby league fields your having a lend of yourself about it not going in.
Horse = Yes the games was quick and aggressive but the ref to his credit pulled up both teams. It was disgraceful when a Knights boy rec'd a hit to his head and went down hard for the Brumbies bench to call for play on. Fair go guys, as the ref said his concern is for an injured 10yo. The Brumbies bench was brought to order several times, not the example needed - what happened to play to the whistle, it was an official B& W ref. Actually I agree with Leftie - swings & roundabouts - SMK were unlucky near the end of the match not to receive a free kick in the penalty box when the Brumbies keeper picked a ball up from a pass back - once again you play to the whistle. By the way the SMK keeper didn't say a second goal went in - so please don't make up stories - & the ref was closer than any official or spectator off the field and had a much better view. Credit where credit is due to the boys on the field for putting in and not panicking and giving up today. Well done
You talk about not making up stories, well you should have your facts right as well. When the Brumbies bench went up it was because play was pulled up as we were breaking away and in fact did not know a St Micks player was hurt as we were following the ball. Of course play should be stopped when a player is hurt. We sat straight down when we realised that. Apart from the non goal right at the end the bench never had to be "brought to order" except when two officials stood up together for about 5 seconds saying only two can stand. That was never a back pass (in my opinion) as our defender was just trying to win the ball which happened to go backwards otherwise the GK would have cleared with his feet as you would have noticed he did throughout the game- something that he practices. It was a clear goal with even the ref getting changed near the halfway flag saying it was as did your parents who were behind me. Our boys have not been involved in anything that physical all season as we try and make the ball do the work but I guess understandable as both teams strive for SF positions. Your effort was commendable and a big improvement on the previous game and the best thing is that we get to do it all again next week.

horse, your backside or frontside i don't care. our goalkeeper never said it went in.
i re-iterate we had the same situation occur in one of our previous games, the goal hit the post pretty much exactly as what happened yesterday and the B & W ref didn't award it. We copped it and didn't whinge like you are going on about. your language as a parent in a public forum is woeful. we teach our kids to accept the refs decision and play to the whistle.
accepting the B&W ref's decision, thats good sportsmanship too!!
Hillbilly, Leftie I'm not making up anything. I'm not wingeing about anything, merely stating what I saw. Lefti I have used zero woeful or derogatory language, so DON'T state that I have. As Hillside said the parents were unsighted to the young boy being injured, once I informed them that a boy was hurt they quickly and rightfully stopped. Yes we will do it all again next Sunday, good luck against Casso Blk on Saturday.
Wild Horse & Hillside 1 - In the name of good sportsmanship, you're from a Professional Club and should be showing an example in acepting a B&W refs rulings. The ref was closer to the play than any of us, the SMK GK DID NOT concede the 2nd goal went in. We all need to accept the rulings and move on. Through the season we have all had decisions we'd query, some have cost us dearly but remember we are here for our 10 & 11 year olds to play soccer, learn skills, team play and sportmanship. Complaining the way you are is not the example of sportsmanship they need. Both teams were physical and determined and need to be commended for concentrating for the full length of the game. Really, such a game will assist both teams in the lead up to the finals and shows that they can't relax for a moment. Lets play in the right spirit of the game and we look foward to next Sunday
