It's gonna be a long year for those boys unless they find a few more. Toonie had 17 registered last year and we still started a few matches with no subs. The problem then is that blokes will play on when they have niggling injuries which often makes them worse. I know from personal experience. Injured in a trial match 4 weeks ago because I played about 20min longer than I should have due to no subs.
Good luck to all this season and let's hope for a good clean competitive division.
Rumour about the Ville side not a rumour. They have picked up at least 5 of the Ville 35/1's side that has been battling with CHU for past 3 seasons. My prediction is they will win it in a canter (with all due respect to the other sides). Some very good pick ups and in all fairness should probably be having a crack in 1's let alone 3's! Time, of course, will only tell....

K-ville picked up four players that played with the one's last year. One was the div 1 manager and he played approx 3 games last year, cuz he kept breaking down. One striker with a dodgy knee but with some luck will play most games. One bald bloke will run all day but sometimes has 2 left feet and one defender with a really big head.
As per my recent post all would have struggled to play div one this year but they will help the 3's no doubt. No hidden agenda or a planned recruitment drive all 4 played with this side 4 years ago before playing with the one's they are simply coming back to play with their buddies and enjoy a beer.
I very much doubt KV will become a super team...too many boozers in the team, saying that i watched them at the weekend and they did look pretty good, knocked the ball around well etc...played an AA 6 team and beat them 9-2 with a dreadful penalty miss!!...would say they will better their 5th position last year!
I have to say it was the worst penalty i have seen since a certain grand final 2 seasons ago,it was a shame for the large centre forward as it would have gave him his first hatrick in 30 years of soccer, don't think he's got much chance of a hatti in season as he will be spending most of his time with splinters in his arse.
Your right about the beers, its all about having a good laugh(AND WINNING OF COURSE),if the new boys can stay fit for the whole season(big ask)then i think they will go ok,the one thing the other teams can look forward to is there STAR player will be back in blighty for the whole of the finals........
I'm remembering a post last year in the 35/3's thread which stated O35's football is a game of numbers. That is, the sides that can consistently put a strong team together with at least a couple of reserves each match will do well. Despite the fact a team might have talent, the old bones struggle if there are no subs or worse still - playing short.
Let's see how everyone holds up. Toonie with 3 injured before round one
In regard to the so called "super" KV side. If they are just trophy hunting then best of luck to them, very little satisfaction in putting in a side that is far too good for the division they have been put in and romping it home, flogging everyone along the way! But of course, let's wait and see how good they really are first.
Also, not sure why last year's Div 1 players would drop down 2 divisions, surely it would make more sense to drop down to the 2's? But, if they are dropping from 1's to 3's just to win a trophy then they should enoy the spoils of their pyrrhic victory should the season go that way.
From a personal point of view I hear these rumours every year about so called powerhouse sides being built to come in and wreak havoc amongst the lesser lights in the vitally important over 35 division 3 comp, obviously an elite division that attracts the best of the best to build Robocop like teams to lay waste to all before them in their ultimate quest for the Holy Grail of over 35's football, the division 3 trophy!!!
On a lighter note, good luck to all teams this weekend, may football and beer be the winner!!!
TFS....i can assure you the formers 1's players dropping down to the 3's reason is purely mate ship, as the big cheese has stated in earlier posts, as he said all 4 players played with the original 3's side many years ago and felt the time was right to go and play football with their mates again...a pure coincedance they all decided to to it in the same season!!
If they have created a better side than before then so be it, good luck to them, as you say only time will tell...but as we all know, the beer always tastes better after a win!!
I will reserve judgment on the claimed "super" Div3 team from the Ville. Lets see how the results look after 3-4 rounds. I remember there was a bit of noise about this team last year and Auburn too. The Div ended up being really competitive with the top 5 or 6 being able to beat one another of their day.
Good luck to everyone today. Let's play clean and fair.

LOL i like the sound of "a super side"
Just Because some blokes played in a div one side, it doesn't necessarily mean they are super star players. In regard to dropping to div 2 well theres little difference in the standard between div's 2 & 3 and lets repeat this again they played with these boys for a number of years before joining the div one team for 3 years. Its not pro football and no one is trophy hunting (although personally it;s been a while since i've had a GF win).
All that aside the Ville will be strong but they won't be as super as some might predict. So TFS and beeper, chill out fellers and I agree lets reconvene this discussion in 3to 4 weeks.

similar game at b-hills. k-ville dominant 9-1, good too see big dave taylor turn up for a run (and pregnant dog at his team mates for 80mins) and Andy Cole also turned up and true too form 9 shots and 2 goals...
Hard to tell if k-ville are the real deal and if superstardom looms or baulko are in for a tough year.... best moment of the day, the replacement ref on his mobile phone checking what was for dinner... Gold!!
