Time to make a cup for the 35's since we have 7 divisions. You only need 8 teams to enter to make it worthwhile. I am sure you would get more than that as the old fellas would much prefer to replace their 1 training night with a cup match.
They don't need an O35's cup - can't get more than 6 teams in Div 1 how are you going to get more than 8 to enter a cup. Won't these teams in div 2 - 7 still be scared of playing the "super" teams of Div 1?
Cottam Cup is knock-out for open mens teams (ie entry is open to all teams from U18 and over , ie it includes O35 & O45 if they were silly enough to enter) Thistle Cup is knock-out for U14 + U13 teams. President Cup is knock-out for ladies teams.
And I believe V is correct, they were last played in 2008 - due to both weather and issues with field lighting after the new lighting standards were brought in by NSW government

I posted this in the Use it or Lose it thread:-
Maybe the Cottam Cup (and other Granville Knock-Out tournments) could be played in September. At least for this year so the fields get used in the Hills LGA and GDSFA can show they are serious about the use of the grounds in September and giving players a chance for more games (even if it's only one).
Just a thought as there will be 3 weeks in September that the Hills LGA Grounds don't get used?
