Pendo got 16 registered but just one of those in respect of numbers.[/quote]
Hardowrk, sorry mate haven't got this posting thing figured out yet.... We've got 18 but a few crocs so we only managed 13 on Saturday, probably cos we've got a combined age of about 800. We were pretty happy to see the Kellyville Over 45's roll up to our field, only to see them shuffle off to field 2 & then the young fit blokes turned up! Bummer
toonie 2-1 NR whites. Whites only had ten for the game and we had 15. we may have won the first two games but haven't showed too much domination given the numbers of the teams we are playing. we should have won by 7 or 8 but again let ourselves down with a lack of continuity once we make subs. the track was ok given the rain but towards the back end of the second half there were certainly some very wet patched around the field. fortunately the game was playable for such a wet overall day and great that the game wasn't cancelled as it would normally have been in previous years!
Round 4 13:00 Pendo vs Baulko Binalong Oval No. 3 13:00 Toonie vs St Mick's Girraween Park No. 3 13:00 Winsto vs Norwest McCoy Park No. 2 13:00 Wenty vs North Rocks BLK Ted Burge No. 2 13:15 Kellyville vs North Rocks WHT Bernie Mullane No. 4
Some interesting match-ups this week should start to show which teams are the ones to beat. Kellyville, Toongabbie & Norwest look strong to me, but Baulko & Winsto are unknown after their 1-1, so looking forward to the results of their games. What can Pendo do with 11 on the field? Bring on the football...
Wenty played the entire game with 10 men. They led 2-0 at half-time, we got back to 3-2, then they scored with about 2 minutes to go, which has now happened to us in both games!
Supreme effort from Wenty. We had enough chances to win 3 games, but their keeper made some great saves, and they have some good skillful attackers to put you under pressure. We need to clock off after 90 not 80 minutes, but otherwise the boys did well...Good game!
Toongabbie 3 - 1 St Michaels. good game, dodgy ref. at least he was consistently crap both ways. they are a young outfit and they sub every out!! was probably a bit too much in my opinion as i think they lacked a consistent attack with so many changes. they certainly showed sections of great play though. we both had more chances but i think we played well in the end. i think it was probably our best effort in terms of consistency. still work to do as we get to know the new players but certainly getting better. that keeps us undefeated! not sure how long it will last so i will enjoy it while it lasts...
Congrats on another win Mazza. We're looking forward to playing Toonie this weekend. We know it will be a tough game for us, but we're confident that we will give you guys a good game...See you on Saturday
Thanks mate. might me out tomorrow. done the back two weeks ago and thought it was right for the last game. game off after about 70 minutes as it was locking up and couldn't get out of bed on monday morning. will have a crack because i would need to be cripple to pass up a game, but i think limited game time for me tomorrow.
Mazza, did you used to play for Pendo? I think I know you from a couple of seasons ago...Looks like the back held out alright mate.
North Rocks Black 2 - Toongabbie 3
Good hard game. Toonie are a strong side with some genuine quality players that could play much higher. 1-0 at half-time to Toonie after an incisive thru ball split our defence...2nd half, a bit of controversy a la Harry Kewell at the WC 2010, but we can't really complain too much...Toonie finished strongly & were just a little bit too good on the day. Genuine contender for premiers I would say.
i did play at pendo previously. the back held up good. i went off twice which meant i didn't have to push too hard. we had a full bench today which was great and allowed that to happen. it was a very good game. i enjoyed it. probably the best game we have played so far adn you guys should beat all the teams we have played so far. you guys have the best spread of skill we have played and i expect you too to be there at the end of the season. only injury for me was a corked thigh. can hardly walk!! but better a corked thigh than a locked back!! i will take the cork any day! I assume you are the number 4?
Number 4, was that a central defender? No mate, number 7...I spent 65 minutes on the bench & then came on & wandered around for a bit... I don't think I broke a sweat. F@ck it was cold out there, I couldn't feel my toes! I will have to run next time... Set up a goal though, so I will keep the Supersub title for now.
Thanks for the encouraging words Mazza...I hope you're right because we're none from 3 so far, but we will give it a good shake at Norwest this arvo...Cheers mate
I'm looking forward to Toonie vs Kellyville. When's that coming up? I think they will be your main competition, unless there any surprises waiting for me... It's a good even comp with every team I've seen so far of a competitive standard
F*ck I hate losing, but I have to say that we were outplayed today. Norwest play a good high pressure game & dominated for most of the game including what seemed like about 50 corners..Well done to Norwest; another strong team that will be around the top 4 in August.
I think we will be better prepared next time around...
They were that much better on the day. Not to make excuses for our performance, but we looked old & tired, because we mostly were old & tired. I think we will give them a better game on a Saturday with fresh legs.
They are a good solid team. They're hungry for the ball & they apply high pressure when they're defending. I'd say the only difference is that you guys have a couple of match winners...
