The supposed superstar striker from Granville must still be on holidays or non existent because kellyville didn't even look threatened at the back in a dominant 4-0 win by the kolts who were very unlucky not to score more with some narrow misses
Didn't see the game and heard (from the coach of Granville) that KV were very very sharp.....happened to speak with one of the young Granville boys who said they will have to work hard at training and get a lot better to compete.
Well done to KV where the quality and experience of top div football obviously shone through...
It's true that Kellyville dominated their game against Granville but there were still some good signs for Waratahs. It did show that there was a big difference between division 1 and 2. I think they will be a stronger team by the time they meet next time. Granville were better when they moved their number 10 up to striker (is he the star striker?) and he created one chance that the Kellyville keeper blocked. Kellyville are strong all over the park and don't really have any weakness' at the moment but with only a small squad and if they have a couple of injuries things could change.
A big win by the Kellyville lads on the weekend. There looks like there is a big difference between the top and bottom sides already in this competition. A big win to greystanes as well, looks like their first round lost was a little hiccup as it was in the first game last season against kellyville. Should be a cracker of a game when these 2 teams meet!
Striker Apart from the first game last year against Greystanes, the rest of the games were fairly even. They always lift against Kellyville and I see the same thing happening again this year. The history between the 2 sides is there and I expect it to still be the case when they meet. I also think that Granville will improve as the season moves on.
Presido, I think the Kellyville/Greystanes game will be a tight game but, Kellyville appear very very strong going forward. Greystanes are a very solid team but do not posses the same attacking threat. Both teams are solid at the back but I think Kellyville's attack will be too much.
Now i know why Granville waratah are so good and why they win all their home games. well, al;most al of them. Auburn with only 11 players, and half barely get a game every week, beat waratah 1-0. One player from waratah spat in one of our players faces as the game finished which caused a bit of a scuffle. Plus the hometown referee tried to physically fight with some Auburn players. People that know Auburn know we play hard but fair, these granville waratah team are grubs or sore losers
Siralex, I heard that the Auburn goal keeper punched the referee in the face. This was from a spectator not assosiated with either team. If this is the case then the player who threw the punch should be kicked out for good. Punching an opposing player is one thing, but punching a referee who is an older man is not acceptable.
Striker, I was there, and the referee was abusing our players and he was the one the who wanted to fight one of our players. Its a case of pushing blame on us before they get blamed. An adult can go to jail for assaulting a minor.... think bout that. We won, why would we start the fight.
Siralex, Auburn do get a lot of blame placed on them. However, Auburn have built a solid reputation over the years as hot headed teams who would rather get involved in the trouble, rather than diffuse it. The young Auburn coach has clealry changed the teams attitude and they are now a much better team to watch as they don't tend to cause trouble anymore.
Any player of team who decides to use their fists on the soccer field should be gotten rid of. Regardless of what team they play for. I'd rather watch a match where you put a big tackle on a player, rather than punch them.
