Sounds like a very good effort by Pendo on Sunday, well done. Noticed no ref allocated to Sat game, would have made things tough. It is mind boggling that there would ever be an U18/1s game without an offical ref. I guess we're making it all too hard for these guys to turn up.
Notworthy, a fight implies an even contest. Auburn players on masse kicking the head and back of a Kellyville player lying motionless on the ground is not a fight. Another player king hit from behind while trying to block the kickers. Body kicks to another Kellyville player who bravely lay on top of the motionless player to help shield him. To give an indication of how rabid the Auburn team was, it happened on a far corner of the field and two of the red cards were given to players from the bench!! that's how quick they got there. The Assistant Coach (last year's banned Merrylands coach) involved erging his players and sprinting onto the field with two Auburn supporters on toe to get involved. I can't repeat on a forum site the crude and utterly disgusting comments yelled at the Kellyville mothers. Credit to the Auburn Coach though for trying his best to calm things down. Let's be clear, this was not a fight, it was an appaling and a sad indictment on the Auburn Club. The penalty, well that's a sad endictment on the Granville Association and its judiciary. Zero tolerance policy? I guess not. These actions should see at least the three boys with never-to-play-again stamped on their cards. And the ex-Merrylands coach - two years in a row now - Life for him also.
I know what went on and wasn't implieing that the ville boys were in the mix,i was having a go at the aurburn boys
As for the coach he should be banned for life, after seeing it all before 2 years ago when i was involved with the then 16s,he is a loose canon.
the aurburn boys were no trouble that year with the coach and manager a credit to the team any sign of trouble and they stopeed it there and then, how the ex merrylands coach got there i don't know but shame on granville he is still allowed to coach
According to the granville website, the third person suspended only got 2 weeks. He got charged with a R2b offence (the same as the other 2)which is supposed to carry a minimum of an automatic 5 game suspension! So work that out. And I bet that the Merrylands coach/manager or whatever he was didn't get a mention!

Isn't this meant to be the place where we can discuss these issues?
The matter was hardly dealth with at all. Granville says there is zero tolerance? Complete bollocks. These players should be banned for life. Players like this keep getting away with it because Granville are spineless. Maybe Granville should make player safety a priority instead of a backseat. It seems as if they would much rather keep taking money from these players rather than enforcing the zero tolerance rule they preach, yet net never practice.
It also says quite clearly on the GDSFA website that a player who is chared with an Rb2 offence (which they all were) will serve a minimum of a 5 match ban. How one earth did one of them get a 2 match ban! Even a minimum of 5 years isn't enough.
Gents the ex Merrylands coach who is now the Auburn manager has been at it since the 14's, it makes 3 strikes in 5 years and his comments from the sideline only encourage this sort of behaviour from his players. This coach/manager should have life suspension as in any incident he is always first on the field when game is still on contributing to inflame the incident. The Auburn coach of this team seems a great young bloke who was very apologetic for his teams chatter last weekend and with the help of another senior Auburn coach/manager would be the ideal pairing for this team.
ville played all 90 min with 10 and it showed, they started off strong going close twice, as the game progressed Granville began to dominate with their wide play and came close to making it 3-0 towards the end of game
can greystanes keep grinding away yet again 1 point out of top spot & the goal differance is not that great. they have been playing wth eleven or 12 players due to injuries & players over seas. for many weeks. can they make it 6 grandfinals in a row ?? they are always the quiet achivers. they seem to never start the season strong, but always give it a good shot in the second round .
good luck to all teams. as we start the business end of the season. & LETS ALL KEEP IT CLEAN & FAIR.
I have heard that the Winston Hills v Baulko game was abandoned last round. Can anyone confirm this? Also heard that Winston Hills had a couple of players sent off as well. Piston, It's true that Greystanes always seem to start the season slowly and finish with a bang. The match coming up against Kellyville should be a cracker. Kellyville are struggling for players at the moment as well. They only had 10 against Granville (really only 9 as one was crook and was only out there to make the numbers) and again 10 against Castle Hill black. Hopefully after last weeks washout they will get a couple of players back for the next round.
