Well it looks like greystanes are now top of the ladder. Kellyville had a 2-2 draw with Baulkham Hills in a catch up game last night. It was a great effort from the Ville boys, started the game with 10 men had another taken out late by the Baulko keeper (can't believe the ref didn't award a penalty!) which resulted in him being a passenger for the rest of the game. So the ville boys effectivly played with 9 players for 3/4 of the game and actually led 2-1 until about 10 min form fulltime when Baulko were awarded a free kick from outside the box and the Baulko striker scored a screamer into the top corner. It all comes down to Saturdays game at Bathurst st between Greystanes and Kellyville. Kellyville will be lucky to field a full side with a couple of the boys picking up injuries last night. I would be surprised if they manage to get 10 fit players onto the field.
i know the season isn't over yet, but does any one know what all the u18 teams are doing next year . are they going premier league , or u21. ?? it would be good if most of the teams moove in the same direction i think so the boys have a competition to enter. i think greystanes are thinking of going back into premier league as granville have been chasing clubs to field enough teams & they have been chasing greystanes to get back into it. if this happens the 18's will i think go premier league, other wise the club will not have enough players to fill in 2 teams. firsts & reserves.
Piston, Granville has three divs this year for 21s, so assume there will still be quite a few eligible to play next year and possibly year after also, so combined with this year's 18s, should be a reasonably strong comp in 21s.
Re the Kellyville boys, not a lot has been said at this stage, individually. I know there was talk at the start of the year about maybe trying for Prem res this year, but Kellyville already has a full squad for Prems + res so it was easier to stay 18s.
I do know that the majority of the team is pretty disheartened with Granville's inability or lack of desire to enforce its zero tolerance policy so they may even look elswhere, who knows. My son will likely not be there as he as planning a "gap year" working in Canada.
See you at Bathurst St tomorrow, should be a cracker.
we heard that their was another fight of some sort, did the auburn coach call it off.?? when is all this going to end, yes greystanes 1 granville 0, granville played very well to keep greystanes out & their keeper had a very good game.
that is now the 6th granfinal in a row for greystanes in 1st division, & the third minor premier ship there is something about this team, these boys play for each other not for them selves. the coach & the manager have been together with these boys since the bigining 9yrs this year.
should be a great game next week, good luck to both teams & lets have a clean game & no penalty's to decide a match.
piston, The only fight was the one that Auburn were trying to start after one of their players was given a second yellow card and therefore red who then decided to headbutt the referree. This same player then tried to do some kind of flying karate kick which fortunately missed its target. And from then on some of the Auburn players tried to engage the Kellyville boys into a fight which to the Kellyville boys credit they did not retaliate. looking forward to a tough match against Granville next week.
i really thought k /ville would win on the week end but it wasn't to be. i am not sure what happens to k/ville but every year they seem to crash at the end of the season they are very good players with very good skill but there must be a brackdown in the harmony of the team somewhere, from the coach ,manager, & players, or even the players positions & how they are told to play. ( not sure ) in the now 6th consecutive grandfinal greystanes have made it into they have only played against k /ville twice, when you would have said that 4 or 5 against each other would have been more on the money. good luck to all teams playing this week end.

Greys a team that play for each other and know the game is never over until the lady sings...congratulations to them. Going by the score sheets they have dominated throughout the year and it was fitting to see the best team all season take it out..
Nice final pass from a midfielder and commitment by the Greys striker to get in between the GW defenders and keeper to slot the ball home for the winner.
Good luck in the COC boys...
My take on the game....GW far more skilled and a better football team.....if the GW boys had some killer instinct and knew how to finish the game would have been dead and buried by 3 or for goals during the 2nd half....not to mention the ref disallowing one in the 1st half for a second ball being on the field at the time GW scored.
Some great point blank reactions by the Greys keeper too through the 2nd half.
Greys dominated in patches by commitment and will to win when the GW boys dropped their heads and their coach made 101 positional changes which I believe effected badly.
Well done boys, played in good spirit, hard but fair. It was worth the price of admission and thoroughly enjoying to watch.
