Well don't worry too much about it. The mods here tend to let a bloke have enough rope until he hangs himself.
Let's move on shall we ...
Stan, how's the ville lads looking this year? Some of the ressies making the step up? Also I saw some of the U/17 ville lads playing in a friendly against my lad last season and considering they made the quarters of C of C will some of them be stepping up this year to ressies or prems?
On a side note my lad trains with one of the Rydlamere FC Prems lads and by crikey this guy is one huuuuuge mean mother. He looks like he could use a 6ft 90kg player for a pogostick!!
Look out !!
Of course we respect your opinion no matter how stupid it is!
Are unable to field a squad in Prems, this should really come as no suprise if you look at the way the 21/1 comp has dwindled in the last 10 years, Low number of teams and only 1 or 2 decent teams each year.
Perhaps Granville should look at trying to merge Prems with Blacktown as was the rumour 5 years ago. Or look at reducing the Prem comp to a single team entry (1st grade only). This could help share player quality and increase the number of clubs entering.

V, It's actually quite common for 21/1's to be very light on with players and associations tend to mix the 18's with the 21's depending on numbers. Around this age players find other interests like girls, booze, jobs and other things to occupy themselves with. Fees also have a bearing as paying $300 + per year for a season of footy doesn't seem worth it for many.
I've been studying player numbers in a few associations over the years and notice a pyramid of divisions/players where the base is quite large being juniors dwindles to a sparce few when around 18's, 21's prems.
Last year there were 9 teams in prems at Granville and in Blacktown there were 8. By the look of it this year there will be 6 Granville, Blacktown not sure but probably 8. The rumour is not a bad idea at all to merge them into one premier comp. Not sure if Blacktown and Granville can do this though?
Of course we respect your opinion no matter how stupid it is!
CB - Not a fan of a merge and I am not a fan of going to one team.
What I am a fan of is GDSA making clubs enter prems before entering 2 senior teams in S1 to S3 divisions.
In the Manly district all Senior comps are run in squad format. All the way down to division 10 or so. They also have a great requirement where each senior squad must have a minimum to 2 qualified referees. This works fantastically well over there.
You cannot force a club to enter in Prems - North Rocks tried it around 5 years ago and got pumped every weak, not enjoyable for any team. From memory half the players quit during the season and the club was forced to fortit alot of games.
Also freak once the older boys in the Toony squad decide to move to 35's they would be unable to field a squad, so their is another club that may be lost in the coming years.
Toony prides itself on entering a prems squad year in year out and a culture has been created to ensure this remains. We even moved to the Blacktown comp in 2002 just to keep the squad format together.
Ask yourself why did GDSA go back to squad format in 2003 for prems after 1 year of non squad format???
The crux of the matter is this. Auburn and Joey's are 'currently' extremely strong sides and with our current GDSA structure of only 1 division of squad format it deters individuals away from playing prems as they cannot see themselves competing with the superior sides in the comp and therefore breaking up the 30 man squads formed.
But when you get Pendo playing Pendo in S1 GF's and I believe the same thing happened approx 4-5 years ago with StJohns having 2 top of the table Senior 1 sides and an underfeated 21/1's why the hell not should these sides not be playing prems???
For the benefit of football in the district something should be in place to ensure squad format remains in place as it is in every other district within the Sydney Metro.

Just checking granvilles divisions for seniors it goes down to Div 12...Thats a lot of senior sides. I see freaks point that Senior 1 champs could make up some prem sides with sen 2-3 making up a reserve squad..
Yep these teams/clubs should be encouraged to play prems as there shouldn't be a lot of difference between prems and sen 1.
Having said that though V is also right that you cannot force sides to play prems. They simply just go elsewhere...
I agree with Freak 100%. Blacktown are moving with the times this year and have a 2nd div of Prems and Reserves starting this year, (called Super League) with promotion and relegation. AA1 and AA2 have been removed and starts at AA3 now. There is more interest for Super league than Prems at the moment... But you have to start somewhere
I think the aim is to promote a prem league support type situation within say Sen 1, Sen2 in preparation for promotion to Prem league with the newly called super league allowing Sen1, Sen2 to run as a squad. A prelude to prems/reserves.
A good idea by blacktown and in it's inaugural test year. Will be interesting to see if it's successful. Calling it super league though in my opinion is all in the mind only as it's still Sen1, Sen2 standard but with the added running as a squad theme. The bonus is promotion and relegation as squads to entice upwards into prems.
To do the same all granville would have to do is allow Sen1, Sen2 to run as squads. Call it what you like Bundesliga "B" or Serie "B" or whatever. The newly formed super league cannot rep in C of C or state cups though.
Other associations have been running similar and calling it prems div 1,2 or A,B also with promotion and relegation.
I will watch with interest to see how this goes over the next year or 2, but given the success of promtion and relegation style squad competitions in other leagues through-out Sydney Metro I would suggest it will work.

Winsto bowed out in the deleted Prems thread at the end of last year. Pendle Hill have a Sen 1's side that is made up of ex prems players who are unable to commit to another season of Prems due to family, work and age (alot have played Prems for 10+ yrs) PHill have a Sen 2 side that isn't too bad but aren't interested in Prems, a bit of a shame. Dundas prems have move associations or called it quits.
Who are the definite teams this year? Baulko, KV, CHill, Aub, St Joeys....... have Toony or Lidcombe got a squad?
Will be interesting in 2012 if Auburn and Joeys make a play for State League.... (Rumour)
