Have been informed that we(Lidcombe) have been graded in 45/2's !!! Is Jooolia at the helm of Granville ? They make guidelines, specifically quote that "6 team competitions are avoided" and then do exactly that. I've played in a 6 team comp before and won't again.
All the teams allocated to div. 2 nominated for that division, so Granville bowed to your wishes and made a 6 team comp. The teams that nominated div. 1 got that so ask your club what you nominated for. If those teams in the 6 team Div.2 aren't happy get your club to request a reallocation and make a single comp. DO IT TODAY
Insider - I've just been informed by our club registrar that all new sides to 45's with the exception of a CHU 35/1(sic) side were put into division 2 and that the existing 45's placed into division 1. Conflicting info so unless you got the good oil.
As a side we weren't consulted and we will be discussing tonight. Hopefully if required Granville would be able to honour our request for promotion for as a side we were pretty competitive in 35/3's last year and as a squad would probably prefer to play in 45/1's (no disrespect to the 2's, that could be next year).
IMO Granville should have said to all 45's sides, tough. The reason why. We don't want a repeat of the 35/1 debacle of a few years back when sides became reluctant to go to division 1, and when the comp started after round 1 some sides failed to turn up (outright refused to play) forfeiting a number of times to the 2 top sides leaving them without a game and a bitter taste. The comp became little more than a joke. I don't mind getting flogged once or twice but not repeatedly, well not on the soccer field anyway. The following year they consolidated and had a large 35/2's comp which by all accounts was well run and competitive and without the complaints from the previous year. And it was that type of scenario that I assumed the reason GDSFA outlined the total number of teams to a age group template formula policy and to avoid such grievances.
Should be simple shouldn't it ?

refsdad I agree a 14 team comp can easily be accomodated and is more preferable No need to play evryone twice, only play a few teams twice (luck of the draw) is no different to playing in an 8 or 6 team comp and playing a few teams 3 or 4 times (luck of draw)
justkickn the 45s comp last year was much closer from top to bottom than the previous year, perhaps not on the points ladder but as far as games that were played. With more teams in this year a single comp should see more even games. Those teams allocated to Div. 2 need to get thier club to request a regrade TODAY/TOMORROW. So if you know anyone involved in those new teams make sure they know whats going on

I played in both the consolidated comp and the 6 team comp...my view is the 14 comp was much preferable. In 6 team comps it seems like you are forever playing the same sides...throw in a forfeit and a couple of washouts and you where!
I understand some of the teams that may have made up the 2s in that consolidated year but ended up playing chutahs and villians would have had cause for complaint...but is there similar stand outs in 45s? From my reading of scorelines in previous years, pendo and winsto seem to be the stand outs but games appeared to be reasonably close scorewise?
I am with insider ..lump all teams together and draw out of a hat for the remainder.
Hi guys, old & new to the 45's. After 3 years of trying to get a 45's going & 3 years of playing 45's I am back in 35/6 with 2/3 of last years baulko 45's. The new baulko team is from 35/2. The decision to put the team back into 35's was last year we came 7th, we had 2 very good players 6 good players & the rest played a good game. We lost 4 to the new team & 2 are not playing this year so with 12 players & 6 new teams in the 45's from 35's div 1, 2 & 3, we dicided to play 35's & not get wipped every week. Next year we will be back in 45's in a graded second div. Good luck to all. Baulkokid
