Hard fought win by ville with guildford making it hard for first 20mins until bandy hit a screamer in with his left foot, quick penalty followed 2-0 half time.Second half seen ville hir the bar twice before old Lad in midfield hit one of the best goals you will see this season,35 yards out running on to the ball half volley top corner with his weaker foot,
Hats off to Guildford who never stopped trying to play football, they have a lot of players in late 40's and 50's but still gave us a good game, ref had good game also and there wasn't one bad challenge all the game, had some laughs with the Guildford players throughout the game, good set of blokes
Baulko 6 Regents Park 1 Scrappy game at Ted Horwood Stadium. 2 games next door to each other - ours and a 35/5 game. They got an official ref, we didn't... So the game was capably refereed by Stan the Man who is fully qualified and generally a better ref than most available, however it's fair to say today the opposition didn't seem to want to respect too many of his decisions. As a result some sensational goals were often over-shadowed by a couple of chaps intent on ruining the game for everyone. The crowd were left shaking their heads when one bloke took his ball and went home - quite literally! Regents Park had some quality players in their team and once they settled down and played football they were more than a handfull. Score was 4-0 at half time but Baulko struggled to win the second half 2-1 after a super Regents Park goal off a free kick which went past a wall of at least 6 players who seemed busy stepping on each other's toes. Notable goals to Bobby who now fancies himself up front and Grant who's in the running for worst post-goal celebration of the year award... I'm Baulkobob.
Falcon, I agree the game settled in the second half. We all shook hands after a pretty good game. One yellow card was issued all game and it went to a Baulko player. I've just never really understood why some blokes have to get so upset, carrying on to the point of calling the ref a cheat is over the top. Especially in front of wives and kids in an over 35/2 game. Not a sheep station in sight! Stopper - Baulkobob just wants to play footy. He doesn't care about the M4. I'm Baulkobob.
Baulko 4 Pendo 0 Baulko visited Binalong today for an early game, 1pm kickoff. Missing several key players Dan (new baby) Fox & Tommy (broken skirts) plus Stef playing busted (sponsored by Panadeine) we had to dig deep. A clinical strike from Mars ear;y put us up 1 nil, but Pendo got stuck in early and had the Baulko backs struggling for composure. A few near misses woke us up and we slotted 2 very nice goals, especially a sweet strike from Maurice. 3 nil at half time but it was a lot closer than that. Really good second half from both teams. Good open footy, some tough challenges but all in good fun. Young ref did a good job, missed a few things both ways but kept everyone happy which is the most important thing. Pendo have recruited well, but their "star recruit" (self appointed) Westy failed to deliver the goods.I hope they're not paying him too much. Highlights of the game: Bobby's AFL-style header for a disallowed goal, George Rose being flattened by a man mountain (fair and square), and Tommy really enjoying watching from the bench. I'm Baulkobob.
A great autumn afternoon for a soccer game with CH holding on to a gritty win at Regents PArk. BUT a draw would have been a fairer result. Easily the best game in terms of fair play and sportsmanship shown that I have been involved in for a long time. No black and white ref but Regents Park provided their ref and he did a great job and the Regents Park team deserve great credit for playing in the right spirit. It would be great if all games were played the same way.
Baulkobob humbly apologises, the list of key players was not exhaustive. Murph, let me know if I missed any other critical moments in the game.... Some of your inspirational efforts maybe???
Notworthy, I can't wait have a run against you guys. It's always good to play against a team full of ex state or national league players. I think Winston hills black are raging favourites but at least we'll know who's second. I'm Baulkbob.
Now notworthy, nasty, sly remark to my mate bob. Just so you know, we have 9 ex state players, 4 ex NSL youth players, 2 who played in Europe and a fat crippled coach. We are graded correctly, you should be in 3s. Looking forward to when we meet.
Go baulko oops, sorry about thay, just seen my typing error, the n is next to the b and i have big fingers i think we would be better suited in the 4s,2 many players in thetr 49s we dont stand a chance against you or winsto
