Only saw the last 5 minutes of the first half so cannot comment but the score was 1 nil to Kellyville at that stage. A rather scrappy second half I thought with both teams having chances but the final touch or shot not being good enough. KV made the CH keeper make one pretty good stop but knowing the keeper I always thought he would make the save.
I think easily the highlight of the second half was the CH goal which koltville would have had a very good view of. I was level with the penalty spot at the other end of the field so it was a bit hard to judge but it looked like the CH player was 25 yards out & maybe in line with the edge of the 6 yard box, if not wider. The ball came to him & without thinking he just struck it sweetly with his left foot to the keepers right, the ball curved beautifully around towards the the keepers top right corner & although just touching it with a valiant attempt to parry the ball around the post, the ball hit the back of the net much to the CH players & supporters delight. A comment heard was - I thought your left foot was just for standing on - so to score that quality a goal with his wrong foot was pretty good. He looked up to find his old man before play resumed & gave his Dad the thumb up too. He was obviously impressed with himself as well.
Kv2-1Mlands .One of our goals from a penalty (hand ball in box) Merrylands 100% better than last time we played ,if merryman had this team all year he would be higher up the table. Hopefully we we get some players back next week as we had 4 of our best missing last week and another leaving at half time against Castlehill, that's why I was so proud of the boys to get the draw with castlehills GK making some great saves keeping them in the game.
Re the penalty, the ref also gave the kid a yellow card which I thought was harsh. So after the game I asked the ref why he gave the kid a card? He said because it was an accidental handball. I then said if it is an accidental handball, it is unintentional and a penalty should not have been awarded. Not complaining, but I see far too often kids unintentionally handballing the ball and referees awarding penalties.
Are you suggesting then that Dundas were the better team?
From what I saw of the match (turned up just before half time) neither team played very well, unless with the way Dundas played you thought that, that was good?? A rather scrappy second half that really both teams had their chances to score a few but did not take those chances. And yes your second goal went in but it was another own goal.
Anyway Dundas won & well done to them for taking the points.
C Hill finally put created chances away for a deserved victory & their best display of the season. Not sure if Wenty had any lads missing but C Hill totally outplayed them even after falling 1-0 down early.
The Thursday night run against the old blokes obviously did them some good & they came out determined to win as they did on Thursday.
Well done boys, may be a bit too late but keep that form up & you may make 1 or 2 teams look over their shoulders.

Dundas v Auburn FC 3 - 3. Auburn went up 2-0 early, and then led 3 - 1 late in the game. Once again Dundas pull off a awesome come back. Dundas are looking forward to a week off before playing Auburn District in a couple of weeks.
