Greys looked like a different team to the 1 we only just beat 1 nil. Maybe Because the Fat is sunning himself on the beaches of northern QLD and the rest of the boys dont know where he left the esky.
Yeah, arrived back home late this arvo Matty - you know exactly where you can stick Sydney weather right ?
As for the Greys poor showing on the weekend, i got an sms saying the Winsto boys ran with the wind in the first half and pumped a few long balls to their strikers who don't miss ? Apparently we gave away a penalty as well which didn't help...
Our two biggest losses this year have both been at the hands of Winsto - we've been reasonably competitive in every other game. On that basis, Fat's premiership odds are as follows...
Well, what a weekend it was, wild, windy and served up a couple of great results which will ensure the contest goes down to the wire for the top 4 spots, what a season me little beauties!!
In the interests of Ol’ Still providing an accurate report I actually found myself out at Rouse Hill shops on Saturday arvo running some errands and, when the choice came up of shooting across to the Ettamogah for a couple of sherbets or ducking up to the Rams/Baulko match I choose to go to the game as it was only up the road. It was so damn cold at that ground I found myself wishing pretty quickly I had chosen option A!!
Anyway, onto the game itself. Baulko got the wrong end of the stick early on from the ref although, on this occasion they did have an official black & white. Only 2 mins into the game when the ball is swung into the Baulko box, the wind playing havoc and it hits an outstretched hand, ref points to the spot for a Rams penalty. Only problem was that the outstretched hand belonged to a Rams player, it was as clear as day to everyone but the ref. Now I am not pointing any fingers at the ref here, it was a crowded box and he called it as he saw it, I have no issue with that but, in a game that had no significance for the Rams surely a bit of sportsmanship wouldn’t have been out of place. The Rams player was heard to say to the Baulko player after the penalty had been scored that it had hit his hand, ah well if you need to do that to get a goal then good on you.
Ol Still just likes to see fair play in what is after all, Saturday arvo park footy. Might be different if it was a GF, play to the whistle but in this match? Justice was done a bit later though as Baulko got a penalty and then went on to win 3-2. Wasn’t a bad game considering the circumstances and everybody shook hands at the end and a few coldies were consumed.
Then the result that Baulko didn’t want, the Villains got up over Wenty in what sounds like a close one, official ref there as well. Makes next week mighty interesting with Baulko only 1 point ahead of the Villains and with, again on paper, the harder match of the two sides. Baulko host Winsto and the Villains are up against a what I understand will be a very understrength Rissoles so, the Villains would be favourite for mine. I don’t think this will go down to GD as Baulko would have to lose and Ville get a draw and as the table is not up to date it’s hard to work out what the GD is!!
Elsewhere, Winsto top the table on GD from the Pendo Blacks and Rissoles 1 point behind them with the Blacks having a hard away trip to Fortress Daniel street to play the Greys, this could be a tricky one for Pendo and, if the Rissoles are truly understrength then they could also slip up leaving them in third to play either Baulko or the Villains.
No matter what happens it will be a great last round with 3 of the 4 games having an impact on the top 4, doesn’t get any better than this boys!!
Nice post Still, Could not get to Greys game, to busy prepairing Daniel St stadium for next week. Also can't have harrys old bones out in that wind to long. Heard reports that Winsto just to good & Fat should have there price odds on. Good goal by Greys player & Winsto GK pulled of save of the season, greys player said you had to see it to beleave it. Maybe boots can fill in the details. Well done to Ville for ending Wentys chance for semi final berth.
Harry, it was a pretty good strike heading for the left top corner at good speed. Sir Billy throws his right hand up and dead set wedges the ball in the corner against the cross bar and upright. I swear I saw the whole goal post actually lift half a foot.
Last game for a few teams this weekend, Been out rolling the famous turf at Daniel st stadium getting ready for tomorrows big game, with a big crowd expected. Heard plenty of refreshments on hand. Predictions : Pendo W vs Wenty 0-2 (Wenty just miss semis * HA HA) Balko vs Winsto 0-3 (Winsto not to lose another game) Ville vs RSL 0-1 ( Ville will hold out but not for 80mins) Greys vs Pendo B 4-3 (Pendo would win at another ground but not at the graveyard) Where your review Stillgame.
Ol’ Still has been mulling over the different scenarios in play this final week of regular comp and I have to say, it is a cracker of a finish! In previous seasons the top 4 have been done and dusted by now but with Baulko and the Villains making late plays for 4th spot it goes down to the wire, as does the final positions for the top 3.
Let’s look at the MP first, for mine, I can’t go past Winsto getting the gold here. I feel sorry for poor old Baulko having to play the top side in the last game and having to get a result to make the 4. Things might have been different if Winsto already had the MP wrapped up but with them needing a win to guarantee it I can’t see them slipping up. Even though it is on the futsal sized park I can see Winsto winning with daylight between them and Baulko. Hopefully it won’t be as bad a shellacking as last round but I just can’t see Baulko getting anything out of this, even if Dr Jekyll turns up on the day I just think Winsto are too young, fast and skilful for the old boy’s network. I think the top 3, in order will be, Winsto, Pendle Hill Black and RSL.
I am sure Baulko will be up for the challenge and will give it their all and they will make sure that they don’t die wondering what if but I just can’t see them matching Winsto on the day. Top sides can play on any size field and, let’s face it, a zippy player is going to be just as hard to stop on a small field!
The game that does interest me is the Villains up against the Rissoles. If my mail is correct the Rissoles will be seriously understrength and this gives the Villains their best chance and they are at home. I can just sniff the possibility of an upset here if the Rissoles are struggling to field a team that gets the Villains into the 4 and gives Baulko last day heartbreak. If this does happen the Baulko boys can still feel mighty proud of their efforts this season. They have the oldest team in this division and to be sitting in the top 4 at this stage is an excellent achievement so, no matter what happens tomorrow boys, you did yourselves proud this season in Ol’ Still’s opinion.
I think you will be pretty close with your call on the Greys v Pendo Blacks match but I just think Pendo Black have too much at stake as a loss could see them finish 3rd and in a sudden death play-off and I think they will rise to the occasion as they are still in with a chance of winning the MP but it will be a very close game in my view and, no matter the result the Blacks will know they have been in a game and, if they do get over the Greys at Fortress Daniel street they will have earned their top 2 spot.
Of course there are other possibilities as well, Baulko may just pull off the upset of the season and, if the Greys beat the Blacks and the Rissoles win then the Rissoles will win the MP, exciting stuff! I just wish I could get out to all these crucial games but I will have to pick which game or games I can get to and rely on my sources to keep me updated with the scores from the other matches.
No matter what happens tomorrow boys, it has been a great season with hardly any negative incidents, so to each and every player of each and every team, give yourselves a pat on the back for a hard but fair season.

Yes Correct Stillgame. We have at least 6 blokes that cant make it as it was down for a 1pm game for ages then all of a sudden a wee or so ago it gets changed to 3pm and the guys cant change plans. We will do our best as always but might be a difficult assignment especially the calibre of players we will be missing but not nuch we can do as we asked for it to be put back to the original 1pm but alas no go for Kellyville.
If we can manage a win we would be hoping that Greys can beat Pendo and we might finish 2nd.
Baulko we will try our best To get the result but i would be going all out to beat Winsto to make sure boys. Anyway good luck to all teams on Saturday and bring on the finals.

I'm just thinking back over many seasons of the games that Baulko has played on their last game of the season........ once particular game comes to mind is against Winsto. Not the same players at Winsto - but not much more I have to say about this.
Whats the point of saying that if you don't elaborate?? I am sure most guys on here have no idea what you are talking about so maybe a bit more detail might help us understand more what it is you are trying to tell us man!
Was it a game where you had to beat Winsto on the last day of the season to make the top 2 or top 4 or avoid finishing in the bottom 2?? Can't really think of any other significance that could be attached to the last game of a season other than the fact you probably won it otherwise there would be no point in your post.
Sorry to hear that but I guess from a Kellyville point of view with so much on the line it seems perfectly reasonable for them to say no to the time change as that gives them their best chance of winning, I would imagine if Baulko were in the same position they would probably do the same thing.
I know your boys will put in their best effort, from what I have seen and heard this season the RSL boys are a great bunch of guys who always play hard, fair and like to have a bit of fun!
I am sure the Baulko players will be disappointed in your post as it puts even more importance in them getting not just a result but a win. I am sure they will give their all to try and get that and, as I said it is certainly not beyond any side to beat any other side in this comp on any given day. This is not a guaranteed win for Winsto by any means.
I am just saying that based on form I see Winsto as the favourites on the day but, as anyone who knows me would testify to, Still's favourites don't always get him the cheddar, especially down the local TAB way!!
Winsto 2 - Baulko 2. Tough game played in tough conditions. We scored early on running with the wind - a short throw in to the far post was converted. Baulko scored straight after from a very soft penalty and the teams left the field at half time scores level. Baulko scored soon after the break from a free kick and the game ebbed and flowed until we scored from an even softer penalty just before the end. Well done to Baulko who stepped up from our previous game.
Special thanks to Baulkham Hills Model Aircraft Club for allowing us to use their landing strip for today's game.
Plenty of permutations and combinations to see who finishes where. Look forward to seeing the scores from around the grounds.
