Great start with a goal in the first minute, thanks to a great ball across the box and a well placed finish. Second goal was a fantastic team move, with an excellent shot from approx 25 yards. Third goal was courtesy of a well struck penalty.
Into the second half and both teams struggled for a 25 minute patch, until the Rams scored another nice goal thanks to a lofted shot from outside the box. The final goal for our returning striker (first game in 5 weeks) saw some tidy passing on the wing, before he lifted the ball over the goalkeeper.
In summary, a scrapy game on quite a difficult (soft) pitch. The referee made all the right decisions, however sometimes he seemed to take an eternity with the decision. Please to collect 3 points and keep another clean sheet......well done defence
A bit better than that altapedup !! An early lob over the keepers head put the gunners on the back foot. Then we were all over them , frustrating them , hungry for the ball. The self implosion was amusing to watch , the one I liked was " For Fu#$ sake Newington these guys are bottom of the table " . Anyway the dodgy handball in the box ( according to our guy ) got it back to 1-1 , also how to do you call a handball in the box and not get sent off?? The poor Ref was coping an ear full all game I'm sure he was happy when it was over. Emotions were up and a couple of yellows were called. Gunners started to ramp up the pressure and a couple of mad scrambles in our box were cleared and we returned the favour and were attacking their backs right to the end . After two weekends of double headers we were sore and light on subs , so this was a very satisfying results for us. It ain't over till it over we won't give up and easy 3 points
A closely fought game between two in form teams. Rams took the lead thanks to a well struck shot after approx 20 mins. Parra threatened to score on a few occasions, however they scored a deserved equaliser just before half time.
Into the second half and both teams played well in patches, however it was Parra who scored the decisive goal with approx 5-10 minutes remaining. The Rams pushed forwards in the final moments of the game, however it wasn't to be !!!
On refection, a well balanced game and a good win for the boys from Parra.
The final three rounds are getting exciting, with 3 points separating the top 4 positions. Good Luck
Another draw , another penalty in the box. Baulko got an early goal again , and frustrated the opposition . Complaints started soon after , the field is too small , the Ref's is getting it wrong ..... yada yada . My advice , play with what the pitch you got and play to the whistle . Oh and don't tick off the Referee .
Holroyd got back level after some idiot in our team gave away a penalty in the box ( what a minute that was me ;D )
The Team was very supportive in not letting me forget.
All in all we are enjoying making the top of the table work for it right till the end.
A frustrating day for the Rams, as we controlled the first half with several good opportunities cleared of the line, plus shots which hit the crossbar and rebounded clear via the goalkeepers head
The second half continued in the same manner; however the Newington defence was solid and prevented any clear opportunities.
It was destined to be one of those days and so it proved. Absolute credit to Newington for their performance and they capitalised on a missed tackle to score a well earned goal.....the moto for the game "if you don't take your chances you will be punished" !!!
The game was played in fantastic spirit and the quality referee helped to ensure the game flowed.
Well done to Newington for completing the double !!!
The last couple of games feel like a serious case of Deja Vu......lots of good play, great build up play and nothing to show for it !!!
In truth, the game was played in awful 'windy' weather, however credit to Kellyville for taking the lead from a well headed goal.
The Rams scored a quick response thanks to determined build up play and absolute commitment from our goalscoring captain. We pushed forwards after this point, however we could not score the all important goal......whilst our goalkeeper needed to pull off a great save to stop a one on one attack from the Kolts.

well normal season is done ,disappointed we have missed out this year but thats footy , congrats to newington, parra city, holroyd, rouse hill on making final series ,,,will b there to see some of the games
A solid game from the Rams players, who started the game in fine style with two early (well deserved goals). Holroyd scored a well taken goal in the final stages of the second half, to bring the half time score to 2 v 1.
In the second half, the Rams made a couple of changes and this helped us to control the game as we scored some quality goals.
The final result was a fair reflection of the game, as the Rams boys played some quality soccer.
Only negative comment was the very poor standard of referee, who showed poor communication, a lack of authority and some very strange decisions (for both teams).
Looking forward to next weeks game against Parra or Newington !!!
Rams started at a high tempo, however it was Newington who created the early pressure and won an early penalty. A bit of good luck, saw the shot go just wide of the left hand post. This lifted the Rams as we pushed forward and scored the fist goal thanks to a neat strike from just outside the six yard box.
As the first half continued the game was well balanced, as both midfields cancelled each other out. 1 v 0 at H/T.
Into the second half and the Rams really lifted their tempo, as we pushed forwards straight from the kick off. The pressure, finally earned a reward as our left back ran down the wing, before supplying a perfect pass for our goal scoring captain to blast the second goal.
As the game continued, both teams had limited opportunities. Final score 2 v 0.
Well done to Newington on a much deserved Minor Premiership.....Good Luck in Div 4. (I wish we were joining you !!!)
A massive well done to the Rams for securing the Grand Champions Trophy, the improvement in the last few games has been amazing and every player has been excellent. A special mention to Dennis, our injured team mate who has supported us at almost every match this season.....brilliant !!!
