Nice summary John316........I actually think the GF will be CHU .v. BH ...... definately the best 2 teams we played all year. How about the cracking end to the season by the Knights......without losing our keeper for 8 games (thanks to your #12), we may have been much closer to the top 4. Ah well, there is always next year. Good luck!
Both games kicked off at same time at different venues.
Report from Binalong was that CHU went ahead early then shut up shop getting 10+ back behind the ball. CHU straight through to GF (as predicted) ML will have to face and overcome BH next week if they want another crack at CHU.
BH started match with one player notably absent. Not sure what happened (slept in, couldn't find the ground, other??) but was a total no show in the end.
BH started hard and created a few early chances stringing together one touch passing sequences of 6 - 7 passes. Nice to watch!!
PC first foray at the BH goal caught their central defenders napping and almost conceded the first goal, saved by the cross bar. This in all honesty was the only raid that PC mounted.
BH dominated play and possession with the first goal coming from a well taken direct free kick. BH hungry for the ball and PC slow to act and react. Second goal came from a header off a corner. 2 - 0 halftime score.
PC came out second half with a little more but BH much the better of the play with continual raids on the PC goal. Sustained pressure in the 18yard box was rewarded with a penalty for a push in the back. This was slotted home. 3 - 0.
The second next play from the KO had a PC cross from the right wing fielded by the BH centre back who clearly controlled with his stomach. Cries of "handball" were rewarded by the ref who was stood 40 plus yards away on the end of the centre circle. His linesman was closer and had an unobstructed view but was never consulted. An unfortunate (disgraceful) decision.
Penalty slotted home 3 -1 scoreline.
BH continued to dominate but lacked finishing. BH central midfielder attempting to clear the ball with a volley had it skew off his foot and fly back towards the keeper who was 10 yards out, He legally caught the ball and was shocked (as were most spectators including a couple of PC supporters) that the ref deemed a deliberate back pass and awarded an indirect free kick. PC squandered a golden chance, unable to convert.
Three minutes later the same central defender was penalised again for handball in the box (though this time it was legit) when the ball took a wicked bounce off the uneven Princes Park surface. The PC player stepped up for his second penalty and proceeded to blast it to the left skimming the outside of the post. No goal.
Following further sustained pressure and several near misses, BH got their 4th goal with a well manufactured shot in traffic beating the keeper to his left.
BH were the dominant side.
BH will now face ML to see who will contest GF against CHU.

We haven't been outplayed like that in any game this year, not even against CHU. My money on BH...if they can replicate that performance again. They were hungry for it, first to everything, and excellent finishing.
