Bobo, that is good as you are much better then what i saw on saturday. I believe his lack of energy really infected others. i can recall one occassion (which i believe should be a finable offence) where an opposition play dribbled the ball no more then 2 steps away and this player didnt even make an effort to get the ball or cause any problem for the attacking player... Poor form. I dont think they teach physics at Pendle Hill High....
Well round one's done and dusted and round two is in doubt with the rain that has fallen and about to fall. I'm sure the councils won't hesitate to close the grounds at the slightest sight of a puddle. But if the gods look after us the following will happen;
Toonie Black V RSL - I think RSL might test Toonie but club loyalty and home ground advantage pushes toward a Toonie win - 2-1 Winsto White V Baulko Black - On the grape vine there is talk that Winsto are struggling at this stage of season and after having already played Baulko I feel Baulko will take this one out 2-0 Pendo Black V Baulko White - Both teams can score so the difference is defence, Pendo let in more than Baulko so there the difference, Baulko 1 nil. Toonie White V Pendo White - The family team kicked off their first year together with a messy win, but a win. Pendo drew with the other Toonie side so we might have a battle on our hands, but I believe we can pull this one off 2 nil. Winsto Black V Waratah - Waratah, 6 blot winners first up must have something going, Winsto still smarting after a 4 nil kicking will be chasing shadows, Waratahs 4 nil.
Swinno, I have been confidently informed that there will be no regrading whether their flogging or being flogged. Tell the red head it's always good to have a positive attitude leading up to a match but it's how you handle being the flogger or the flogged that counts. Monday's not looking good, Wednesday's looking not much better so I can feel another weekend of nothing coming on as the councils won't let us on their precious fields, should have played this weekend but that's a comment for another thread.
Well the sun's shining, the fields are drying, some slower than others and if you believe the weather predicters we might get on the park this Saturday, and to add a lot more pain to what will be sore legs, Sunday as well. As far as my picks go Round 2's picks made earlier stand and Round 3's look like this: (still flying blind though)
Baulko Black V Waratah - Waratah 4-0 RSL V Toonie White - This will be difficult but Toonie will nearly have a full squad and should put RSL to sword - 2-1 Pendo Black V Winsto Black - Winsto 1-0 Pendo White V Winsto White - Winsto to hopefully run Pendo into the ground and give Pendo's confidence a kick - Winsto 3-0 Baulko White V Toonie Black - Toonie 4-3
The round 2 replay between Toonie White and the Pendo White has thankfully been rescheduled to happen Wednesday 2nd May at 7:30pm. Now, a night game, at Girraween my tip now has the Family team winning 4-1.
Well the Toonie white v RSL game has been played and won. Toonie played terrible and RSL played fantastic football so I have no cripes with a 4-1 score line. Although RSL were a level above us today I think if we reduced our very poor passing and gave the ball to one of our players instead of theirs the result might have been different. Well done RSL, quality. Any other results?
Thanks merv was a good game by us and by you guys but as u said just one level above you guys , for us is good to get nearly full squad and to make sure to keep a clean sheets during the season. Any other news??

Pendo Wht 1 Winsto Wht 1
Both teams well below their best. Pendo pushed plenty of players forward and had the bulk of posession reducing us to the counter. A penalty to each team late on allowed us to trouble the scorer's but there's plenty of room for improvement from both sides I reckon.
Winsto Black beat Pendo Black 4-2. As per last week, I only know the score not the story.
Chickman, I don't know what you mean by "clean sheet" we knocked one in against you remember. I think next time we play you guys I hope it will be a closer encounter. As we are a newly formed side of varing levels of abilities, and ages I'm sure we will be a more competitive side once all the wrinkles are ironed out. The other issue we face at present is this Div has, from our unknown perspective, wide gaps in the abilities of sides as they have either come up from a lower Div or come down so until we have played all sides we are flying blind. If we can stay in touch with the top 4 I think Round two will be better for us.
1-1 early on. Winsto B were reduced to 10 men at about 30 minute mark. Winsto B scored 3 goals not long after half time (one penalty). Pendo B reduced to 10 men at about the 60 minute mark when their captain (and best player) was sent off. Pendo B clawed one back close to the end.
