Thanks olebear. We started well, created all the chances early in the match, until a chip was headed through to our striker who was released one on one with the keeper and finished nicely in the bottom corner. St Micks, we're then fouled on the edge of our box, and scored a nicely taken free kick. Not taking away from the goal, but our wall was terrible. St micks started the second half like we started the first, and had us pinned in our half with shot after shot at goal. Our second goal was a cross from the right side that sat up nicely for our striker, who was tackled before he could strike the ball, excellent advantage played by the ref, and our winger finished from close range. Scrappy goal, but we took it. Ref said he would've pointed to the spot if we hadn't scored. From then on both teams were tired and the game slowed down. Got to admit that a lot of our boys said this was one the hardest games they'd played this year. St Micks are a solid team, and we're unlucky not to be in the Gf.
Fair match report from bigmac. Trying my best to put all my bias aside....we didn't take our chances, and Auburn took theirs. Auburn have given us our hardest matches all year too. This was an extremely close comp with well-matched sides, and a pleasure to play in. Good luck to both teams in the GF.
Tips boys? I'm keen to hear your predictions Oake having played both teams recently. I'm tipping solely on the one time I've seen either team and Pendo must've improved a lot since then. I'm picking Auburn 3-2 in extra time.
There are so many ways to dominate a game, yet lose on the scoreboard so picking a winner is a lottery. Pendo scored more goals, and I think had the least in the comp scored against them. Pendo's defense is definitely better than Auburn's, and they can actually create an attack with passes from the back, while Auburn tend to just kick it long. So based on that you would have to say Pendo. But.....if Auburn can keep their emotions under control I would pick them. I like their mid-field. If you shut down Pendo's 15 they have little other options. Auburn have a few more, so marking anyone just leaves you open somewhere else. I think Auburn have a little more speed in their team too, and the bigger field at Coleman might suit them better. Penalty shoot out? I am fence-sitting like mad on this.

Pendo 2 Auburn 0
Even first half hour then Pendo scored a headed goal and from then on always looked the most likely to score....early goal in second half made it 2 nil and Pendo probably should have scored more and limited Auburn to the odd counter attack...best players were for Auburn quick player up front and for Pendo the right half.
Good game well reffed and good luck to both teams next year in 7s.
Well done to Pendo, too good on the day. We had 2 easy chances in the first half that we should've punished Pendo with but didn't, and after the Pendo goal it was pretty much down hill for us. Pendo no. 15 easily best player on the pitch. Didn't give us an inch.
