The current GDSFA Chairman, Lou Mantzos, and immediate past Chairman, Howard Groom, have both resigned from the Board.
Lou Mantzos Lou was elected to the Board at the 2010 AGM and served as the Director overseeing GPT matters that season. In 2012, Lou took on the role of Chairman and, with his vast 'State League' club experience, helped steer both the GDSFA and Parramatta FC. Lou's resignation took effect on Friday 4th May.
Howard Groom Howard joined the GDSFA Management Committee in 2010, filling the casual vacancy created by the departure of Greg McDonald. He led the standing committee that facilitated the development and implementation of the new GDSFA Constitution and was elected as the GDSFA's inaugural Chairman following the 2010 AGM. Howard stood down at the 2011 AGM but was soon seconded back onto the Board as an Appointed Director overseeing the newly-available MyFootballClub (MFC) registration process and provided general IT support. Howard's resignation takes effect as soon as both of the following triggers occur: The Special General Meeting (scheduled for Monday 7 May 2012) is concluded and The 'Compensation Agreement' between an English Premier League Club and Parramatta FC - related to the playing services of an ex-Parramatta junior player - is executed (expected this week).
The casual vacancies so created will be filled by the Board and persons who may be interested in an appointment to the Board are encouraged to contact the Executive Director (Mark Pigram).
I think since the departure of Greg Macdonald, nothing has been done properly.By laws, constitutions, nothing gets followed correctly....MY Opinion only and Im on no particular side or have any secret agendas....just an observation form the outside window.
A lot of it Creepy but not all of it....what happened to the special meeting 2 odd weeks ago thta was over the GDSFA not operating within the constitution and by laws (again)...where ther is smoke there is normally FIRE
Hills District Soccer Club is a seperate club to run Parramatta Ladyhawks Super League/Youth League in the FNSW comp, they are seperate to Beaumont Hills Ladyhawks which operate in the Granville comp, but they are both run by the same people.
The GDSFA and Parramatta Ladyhawks both disagree on ownership/management issues.
A director resigned/dismissed over these disagreements between the parties.
Two years ago the clubs raised grave concerns about buying into Parramatta FC and Ladyhawks, namely the money that would be lost and the lack of expertise to run such a business and the negative impacts on GDSFA. Clubs were mostly opposed to such an adventure.
The previous committee ignored those concerns and went ahead with the deal, then most of them stood down at the following AGM. New directors have tried their best to manage all 3 operations but the problems seem never ending and getting worse.
The time has come to end the mess, give up Parra FC and Ladyhawks at the end of the year and get back to running the GDSFA only. Hire out Melita Stadium to those who want to use it and make some money.
Will save GDSFA about $250k a year - they can put that into the yound kids, development, coaching, GDSFA academy etc. Maybe even some software or extra staff that produces ID cards, team sheets and the draw before the season starts!
It is a shame how conflict of interest tends to destroy everything around it and now the clubs can get together and solve these matters firstly get rid of parramatta FC and the people running it since it is a hills district soccer thing it is no good to us in the area therefore we are not benefitting
I do not know the details and do not have all of the facts, however I do have an opinion.
MONEY FROM GDSFA SHOULD NEVER BE USED TO FUND PREMIER LEAGUE OR SUPER LEAGUE CLUBS - NOT ONE OF THEM.
GDSFA is an organisation to run the amateur Granville competition. Anybody using/promoting the use of funds to pay semi-professional players/coaches/clubs should go NOW and any association with those Clubs cut NOW
How could ALL the clubs say that if it still went ahead.....It was a special group that pushed this thru and others left because it...He is still there....and so are some of his people...its a disgrace
