pathetic if that is true!! Any team from anywhere should be kicked out of the comp straight away with this type of behaviour. to chase people and have them have to lock themselves in a changeroom for fear of their safety is surely enough for a team to be punted. If this is the case the Granville are kidding themselves.
If thats the case-And I was involved,I would be looking at legal action-if you cant be protected and are in danger-for heavens sake -why bother paying registration-start of the decline =with descions like this!
So since I don't agree with you, like Mott, I must have been involved. Great logic.
I had nothing to do with the hearing. But from involvement in my club and disciplinary / judicial issues in the past, I know what it is like. As Mott said - plenty of reports from either one of both teams - but very little from the unbiased people who aren't involved.
If you heard the shouting, screaming, yelling and foul language... why not report it? You are so positive that one team was guilty, why not provide the appropriate evidence to ensure the idiots are kicked out?
Apparently both teams were stood down the week following the melee. There have been a couple of suspensions of Merrylands players (which have been appealed - don't know the outcome). I know for a fact that independent reports were provided by two AAM Kellyville players that witnessed the whole thing (good on them for getting involved).
Exactly chickman...theer were plenty of Greys club officials watching the whole thing....
And bluemoon, my report would have been I heard there was an all in on field 2....didnt take alot of notice till it came up to near the canteen...then I could hear the rest of rubbish.....who was it Merrylands people....after talking to some friends later they filled me in .......That would help...wouldnt it!!!!!....The fact is it was an ugly incident.
Its a weak response for an ugly incidence....Zero Tolerance.....Zero doesnt work or apply to anyone........
I am telling you independent reports were obtained and passed on from two all age Kellyville players who witnessed the entire incident. This information was used to issue suspensions to the Merrylands players. I note that this team has not been removed from the competition and does not appear to have lost any points other than the game where both teams were stood down.
If that incident was in a school yard what the punishment would be given Let's not forget here,U16 and yet u get red card for foul language and 2weeks and they get one week , nice message we are sending to the kids that you can chase and threatening to hurt other kids, and you will be ok ,only one week you wil get...

I think the club should stand down the players, last year Merrylands did the right thing and kicked out their U21's after a nasty incident. At the time the team was running 1st by a long way and the club did not hesitate in cutting them.

unless the assoc gets tougher, and follows through with suspensions ,and booting teams out,.if it doesnt get tougher, the assoc will end up being so bad, that numbers will drop, and the assoc will abandon
