Are those decided 100% or are they just the nominated grounds? Nomination can change depending on change of availability i guess. I would also like to see Melita used for more games. The condition of the ground at Garside was not too flash last time i saw it.
Came out in an email from the GM last week, as I said elsewhere Granville were knocked over in the rush (not) from Hills clubs who had been so loud about having to use their fields or loose them. Not sure who would host finals if the hills ever get their own association, probably have to come begging to others :-)
Junior cricket on some of the Hills starts on 8 September ........
Hills have to hand back grounds after 3 September so I have been told.
Some folks obviously are soccer tragics and relish the fact of up to 21 games a season - whereas some people enjoy 14 rounds and 3 rounds of finals series and a gf and a few weekends free of sport from early April to End of August that arent raining
My daughters really liked the fact that they made the semis on the back of playing the 6th and 5th team 4 times.
As for grounds being ok for cricket - councils do their maintenance work in the growing season September - October and then raise the height over summer and just maintenance mow over winter.
I much rather turn this into football vs cricket than hills vs non-hills ;D
SAF Our association is dedicated to those who love football/soccer and choose it as their first sport. Nothing wrong with playing other sports like cricket during off season. We also welcome players of other sports as first choice who want to play football as long as they understand we have football as our first priority and wont arrange our season to fit around other sports.
And just for the fun of it; if plying 21 games of football a season makes you a "soccer tragic" what would you be called if you were to play 24-26 cricket games a season?
Oh and if you have 12 teams registering for a comp you are going to have an imbalanced comp no matter if you play 14 or 18 rounds (1 or 2 divisions).
1 A person would be a cricket tragic if they played 24/26 games a season as well
Is "our" association as dedicated to those who enjoy football and choose it as a sport? The ground resources that the association has are community resources - more than welcome to buy your own fields and run a competition how you see fit.
oh the 12 team comp is easy - two pools of 6 - play your own pool twice and the other pool twice. Just get a creative on the finals on how you deal with either 6 finalists or revert to the final 4 format. Surely not that hard is it ..... or maybe it is ......
